Of course i have certain criteria that i look for .. i look for price to get stretched far fom the 24 MA using a 3m chart as well as price to penetrate the upper (or lower) band with volume. I also look to see if this looks like the end of a trend or is this a new trend devoloping .. And of course, my experience and a feel for the market helps. I will post trades as they occur .. They will be timestamped so that you may match them to your charts , of course if i am able to post screenshots, i will.
Just now (10:48am) closed NTAP at $33.10. Got in at $32.60. Also closed another at 10:48am (will not name) at $19.71. Got in at $19.23. This stock is now at $20.05. Market went off its high at 10:42am (Nasdaq Comp) after a sharp run up and I exited. I suspect that it has topped for now and could pull back more. Will see what late trends develop, if any.

Today was a very good volatility day if you were on the right side. I started off fine but lost my gains when the market turned up sharply in the morning. I had a couple of short positions in YHOO and EBAY and elected to cut losses. I finished flat on the day. Ironically, late in the day YHOO and EBAY sold off before rebounding and I would have been in good shape. After hours has been difficult to find a good trend since YHOO, JNPR have been all over the place but mostly up. Tomorrow will be interesting to see how the market digests the earning news.
After that first high at 10:42 the index (Nasdaq Comp) turned up and continued to rally, closing at its high. Not used to seeing that kind of rally often these days, but I guess investors liked the earnings numbers and scouped up stocks. I stayed out after the first run up, having bagged two uptrends then. It was a great day for stocks.
