There will always be problems of moral hazard in a profit incentive based economy. A resource based economy might work better but unfortunately we have a problem that can't be humanely fixed, overpopulation. I mean what are we to do, remove most of the worlds population or keep our current situation and have the majority live in poverty. I just can't see much upside right now.
