Here's one when you go to Walmart and are hungry and buy a box of frozen steaks but never get around to thawing one out. Heat your grill pan up to a decent heat, but set your oven down to as low as it will go, if it's old it may be 200 degrees, mine is new and will go down to 170 degrees. Take that old frozen steak and and put it on the grill pan for 2 minutes and then rotate it 45 degrees and do it again for two minutes to get nice cross hatched grill marks then flip it and take it off the heat and rub a little butter (sorry guys, I'm kosher but we make exceptions) and crack a whole lot of black pepper and salt on it then put it in the oven for exactly 1 hour works best on ribeye, but can also be used on strip would not reccommend it for t bone or porterhouse it gives you kind of a cross between prime rib and steak if you like sauce, that gives you an hour to pretend you are French and come up with some kind of sauce to pour all over it.
