Spent less time back on the Tweeter than Anthony Scaramucci was Press Secretary or the bookkeepper's bus ride to and from work each day.

Bragging that you gave money to a politician well in excess of legal limits -- never works out very well.

Mike Lindell Accidentally Triggers New Investigation into Pro-Trump Election Official That Tried to Breach Voting Machines
    https://www.mediaite.com/news/mike-...fficial-that-tried-to-breach-voting-machines/

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell created more legal trouble for controversial Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters after he told a local reporter he gifted hundreds of thousands of dollars to her legal fund.

On April 5th, NBC’s 9NEWS reporter Marshall Zelinger asked Lindell how much money he raised for Peters’ legal defense against felony charges for her role in breaching election equipment under her supervision:

Zelinger: “Mr. Lindell, how much have you raised for Tina Peters’s legal defense fund?”

Lindell: “I just put all the money in myself.”

    Zelinger: “How much is that?”

    Lindell: “I don’t know, I probably put in 3, 4, 5, maybe $800,000 of my own money.”

Peters, who is running for Colorado Secretary of State, was indicted in early March on multiple counts related to election tampering.

A grand jury indicted the elected Republican from Colorado’s Western Slope over allegations that she illegally allowed someone to copy passwords and other files from secure voting systems and post them online, which exposed the machines to hacking.

Peters has been “charged with three counts of attempting to influence a public servant, and one count each of conspiracy to commit attempting to influence, criminal impersonation, impersonation conspiracy, identity theft, official misconduct, violation of duty and failing to comply with the secretary of state’s office,” according to USA Today’s summary of the indictment.

Lindell’s statement resulted in yet another legal headache for Peters as the Colorado Independent Ethics Commission “voted 4-0 to accept a new complaint against Peters as non-frivolous, meaning the commission will look into the complaint,” according to local reports.

The complaint, which was accepted Tuesday, was filed by Anne Landman, who also successfully petitioned the commission to investigate two other ethics complaints against Peters.

Paul asked Lindell about one of those complaints regarding Peters accepting free travel from the pillow CEO and prominent activist claiming that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump:

Paul: “I know that the state’s investigating the flights that you gave to Tina Peters, can you talk about how many times you’ve had her on your private jet? Or if you’ve given her frequently rides to places?”

Lindell: “What? On the cyber symposium, I give rides from people all over the country. I had never met Tina Peters. That’s the plane ride you’re talking about. She came to the cyber symposium with the group from Colorado. I picked people up. I invited all 50 states. All 50 states were represented. There’s your answer. Another stupid question by a stupid journalist.”

Zelinger: “If you had just met her, you weren’t a close friend of hers?”

Lindell: “I just met her that day. Another dumb question.”

Peters, meanwhile, was barred this month from overseeing elections in her home county in 2022 while she remains under indictment for election tampering.

The judge is sick & tired of the Pillow Idiot's bullshiat...

Attorneys Demand $546K In FAFO Money From Mike Lindell And His Lawyers

    https://abovethelaw.com/2022/05/sma...fafo-money-from-mike-lindell-and-his-lawyers/

Mike Lindell’s pillows will have just a little less stuffing in them pretty soon thanks to his legal shenanigans. The MyPillow magnate’s litigation strategies have been approximately as sound as his electoral fraud claims — which is to say that they were batshit — and that may wind up costing him bigly.

After Dominion Voting Systems sued him for defamation in DC federal court, Lindell and his company filed a counterclaim against Dominion and its direct competitor, Smartmatic, alleging civil RICO and defamation. And he filed it in the District of Minnesota, obviously.

US District Judge Patrick Schlitz declined Lindell’s invitation to punish Dominion Voting Systems for the tort of suing Mike Lindell, and transferred the case to DC, at which point Smartmatic warned that it was going to request Rule 11 sanctions against Lindell and his lawyers. But these brain geniuses ignored the threat, and instead dismissed their claims against Smartmatic, then added the company back as third party defendant in the pending Dominion case. Only this time on top of the RICO libelslander allegations, Lindell accused Smartmatic of witness tampering via cease and desist letters sent to people making false claims about the company.

Last week Judge Carl J. Nichols had enough. He not only granted Smartmatic’s motion to dismiss, but he also agreed to sanction Lindell, his company, and his lawyers Douglas A. Daniels and Heath A. Novosad, both of whom have already withdrawn from the case.

“In particular, the Court concludes that at the very least Lindell’s claim against Smartmatic under the Support or Advocacy Clause falls on the frivolous side of the line (other claims do too),” he wrote. “As a result, the Court orders Lindell and his previous counsel to pay some of the fees and costs Smartmatic has incurred defending itself and moving for sanctions under Rule 11.”

The court invited Smartmatic to make its case for damages, and on Friday, the Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff, LLP attorneys did just that.

“Smartmatic seeks an award of at least $546,156 for reasonable legal fees for 1168.6 hours of work investigating, researching, and drafting several complex motions, plus $400 in costs,” they argue, describing the figure as an 18.4 percent haircut off the actual time expended, in deference to Judge Nichols’s finding that only “some” of Lindell’s claims were entirely frivolous.

But they hasten to add that if Judge Nichols wants to make an example of this pillow pumping bozo with his $2 billion RICO LOLsuit, they’ll gladly take the whole amount.

Thus, although Smartmatic recognizes that the Court is inclined to award “some” fees and that the lodestar below is presumptively reasonable, the Court could go higher and award up to $658,646.73 within the confines of Rule 11. If ever there were a case to apply the full force of Rule 11, it is this one.

They also observe in a footnote that only Lindell’s lawyers — i.e. not their client — are on the hook for making facially frivolous arguments in a pleading in violation Rule 11(b)(2).

Mistakes were made. The only question remaining is, exactly how expensive those mistakes are going to be.

And, hey, PS: If Smartmatic is getting sanctions and fees from Lindell and his attorneys, then you can bet your bottom dollar Dominion is going to ask for a whole lot more than $546,000 when this preposterous clusterfuckery finally comes to an end.

  9. One thing that tickles my amygdala is that you see an ad for his My Pillow and he flames on about how everything is made and done in America.

Then ten minutes later his My Sheets ad comes on says the are made only from the best cotton from the Nile delta in Egypt. C'mon man.

I got my slippers in August '21. Immediately out of the box, one of the thin leather straps broke off. It was downhill from there. The edge of the soles started cracking after about 4 months. It's been 8 months and now about 1/4 of the entire sole is disconnected from the rest of the slipper, on both of them. At this point, I view my $69 "investment" as a donation to Lindell's campaign to save America, with the perk of temporary/disposable slippers thrown in :(
