Trotsky was not unique or original in this thoughts - life is a journey, not the goal, the only sure point of arrival is death, so enjoy every moment, Carpe Diem, "some years" before Trotsky was said. Our Trader God just need to manage just temper, I believe, please, forgive me Trader God if I mistaken, but it is so classical for men not to bend their ego, to feel empowered when doing something and kind of useless when sitting quietly and this is how market taking all [rpfits. While trading is absolutely not easy and is kind of metaphysical experience, it is much easier than to become flying Zen master, elevating yogi, where really more the one lifetime is needed. So, if there are courage and devotion, and Trader God have it, then with some discipline and patience, I believe everyone can achieve it and the world would be as in "Immagine", and "You will say I am a dreamer, but I am not the only one!"
Man, bro, stop enabling an addict. I bet u work for a broker or “educator” so u you must encourage such continuous destructive behavior.
oh yes i work for the Indian broker in Hyderabad but speaking seriously: stop insinuating if you disagree with me state your opinion and move on why so many here when meet different opinion imidiately switch discussion from discussing the subject to discussing the opponent, his motives, believes, etc etc?
Say what? I don't think anyone pursues trading because it is hard. They do so because they perceive opportunity. That it also happens to be hard is a necessary evil to contend with rather than a central attraction that drew them in.
its not about easy many men stay where they are and eat the shit there because of the obligations they have to fulfill: to their wife, to their parents, to their kids, to their country that is the difference between the boys and the men: the man has obligations and real men fulfills them what ever the cost that is why I do not fault so many who live and die and ordinary life , burying their dream in order to pay the mortgage, to raise the kids, etc etc.... and i do not think their life is wasted, i just wanted to show to the guy who raised the issue about the wasted life not to rush to judgement...
No personal attacks. It has nothing to do about following a dream. The dream is what you want, the process is how you get there. Unfortunately, the process of trading can be highly addicting making your dream impossible to ever see for many Whenever someone worships “educators” as op stated and has not seen success after 20 years; its our duty as fellow traders to try to help. Not feed the addiction. Just think, had the op realized this a decede or more ago and pivoted to another business; the dream may have been his. Its never too late
If i would live a life of constant misery as you described it before, i would do something about it. Doing something about is doesn't mean not obligating to your family/kids etc and giving up dreams for family and kids doesn't mean you have to live a miserable life, you are comparing apples to oranges here. If you are spending a substantial amount of your time on doing something in which you are unsuccessful, then at some point it might be time to change something. Being unsuccessful doesn't give you joyful moments and doesn't make you happy. 20 years is a long long time, you only have 1 life and can spend every minute only once. And yes he might enjoy trading, but after al this time one should ask if the advantages are greater than the downsides. Enjoying himself sometimes vs feeling miserable for being unsuccessful, feeling miserable for losing money, emotional stress, ...
i think there should be no recommendations here like see help or change the dream, or suck up to the reality.... what possible here is just express the opinions this is an issue that everybody decides for himself: what to dream, how long to fight for it and what one called the addiction , another one called the perseverance, etc etc...
ok, i am glad you got the message may is a key word here, may be yes, may be not... may be he does not want any other dream, like some men does want any other woman... addiction? i do not care how its called
