Your parents performed a lot of work in bringing you up and made a lot of sacrafices. Bringing up a kid is a second job and sometimes it is not that much of a pleasure. You should help out your parents. Now to what extent is arguable and negotiable. Paying for a few cable or electrical bills seems sensible. I am doing whatever I can right now to be self sufficient in the future. 401k, Roth IRA, DRIP plans and of course there is pension/social security. The pension/social security may not be there in the future however. It is with great hope that I will not be asking for handouts from my immediate family. However, there may come a time when asking for a handout is all together possible. You should work with your family on these issues. Ultimately, you might pay for some of the bills which is not unreasonable.
