  1. Good for you! I'm in the doldrums here. Trading IWM, straight buys.

  2. Out of CBRL with +619.10 profit.... +270% return on this trade, probably one of my biggest percentage winners...

  3. IWM looks nice here...If I had extra I might actually jump in around $83-$84....But then again, it seems like everything is hitting new highs the past few days...lol, almost can't go wrong just guessing on trades the last week.

Might be it for me this week. I'm at $4,899.35 right now.

Plenty of trades left with BBBY, ORCL, ADBE, DRI, and TIBX; but not sure if I want to risk money on those.....I'll do my research though.

  5. I'm not going to risk any on BBBY, but I will test ADBE. It seems the last two quarters, ADBE sold off only to rebound over the next two weeks. I'm going to grab an in the money October call and sell a slightly out of the money october call and see how that works to my advantage.

Going to go with the Oct 32/35 call spread and see how that can work to my advantage. Price is about $1.50, but I'll update on actual position as I will always try to leg into these things....

  6. Ryan Patrick is back and in full swing. For the disbelievers the first go around earlier in the year when Ryan made over 500% if my memory serves me, his comeback after an absence. Show his $2500 stake out of his IRA, up to $4899 today, is 95% gain on his account. Not sure on the time period, about a month?

Bloody hell! The man is a dream! A wet dream!

I notice he has to play more careful though. He went through a stretch there, were he became careless taking too many chances. Right now he is careful and PROFITABLE again.

I don't even want to talk about me. I've been paper trading and I can't even make money much paper trading, without giving it back. At least my cash account hasn't move up or down for the last two months. So I'm not losing real money.

With the VIX at less than 14. I can't see any of the traditional methods making money. The ATR is too small. I picked IWM to trade because it had a bigger ATR, but still not getting much anywhere. This means soon there will be a break, and a fast drop. I show it happening this month sometime. We are getting closer. If not, sometime next week? Sitting and waiting is the hard part.

You could if you found the premiums make something on the Credit Spreads, the bull spreads. I might look at that today. But risking $3000 to make $50 or $75 doesn't attract me much.

  7. Thanks falcon,

This last time here has been a little over a month. I'm actually surprised by how fast ADBE has rebounded. Not sure if any read the earnings, but could have swore I saw ADBE's q4 numbers at $0.53-$0.58 on 1.075B to $1.125B in revenue....and that compares to estimates I grabbed of Yahoo Finance at $0.58 on $1.10B revenue. Looks pretty weak to me from a fundamental point of view. Just glad these stocks work like "clockwork" eh. Thinking about legging out of the 35 calls now with slight to no profits at current levels.

As for credit spreads, I actually tested them about 2 years ago. I just can't see risking $3000 for $50 profit like you mentioned falcon. But if you must play them, then I think options on the indexes pulls in a better reward for the risk. Might want to try paper trading those index spreads, especially on the SP100 and SP500 indexes.

  8. Another small position, this time on DRI Sep 22, 2012 $55 put. Just bought some looking for a small drop in DRI shares from $55 to about $52.50 where 50-day resides. Past 4 reports has shares dropping with high of -7% 4 quarters ago. A 7% drop tomorrow would clearly make way for easy profit I think, still just looking for something small. I'll take the $300 loss if needed. This one will either be a winner or loser, nothing in between with expiration tomorrow.

  9. Too speculative for my tastes Ryan but I gotta hand it to you for having the nads to give it a go. Good luck.

  10. Thanks, going to need the luck....Maybe I should have closed my eyes and picked ORCL or TIBX for a put trade lol. It's a $345 risk on my part, so I'll be giving back partial gains from CBRL if it goes south. Just hate that this is a morning report making me wait till morning to adjust my strategy accordingly.
