  3. NDX seems to mirror image the QQQ? For chart action.

  4. NDX is the Nasdaq 100 Index.

The QQQ is an ETF which imitates the index itself...

Hi, i am seeking an advice..
i'm new here and i'm new in options trading.. But 7 years on forex and future trading and I am very technical. I am still confused for how to use my analysis with options.. So many strategies combination and options.. And i don't know which one is the best for certain condition. So i tried on single options stategy and the result is some times too much to be true for me as a newbie.. I have 2 demo options account with tos.. The first one gain 70% in a year with very low number of trades. And the 2nd gain 30% in months.. And i always buy an options. I Use 50% of my capitals.
I still believe that i might be missing something that I don't know. Just i like on first day on forex 10yrs back.. Made 500% in few weeks, but risking too much and can't go in real trade..
Do u think my demo options peformace is normal? Pls advice...

  7. Quite normal...until it's not. Super easy in a directional market. That said, with trades that big you WILL get wiped out at some point, if you are trading 50% of account it only takes a couple failed trades to lose the majority of your account. See "Black Swan."

My advice, always use way smaller trades (~5-10%). ALWAYS keep your ego in check. If you succeed for a while DO NOT increase your trade sizes. If/when you do you'll eventually have a couple bad trades and then bet the house and all the sudden be wiped out. Keep it under control. With options it's all about timing, it's often said the markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent. Most importantly, implement proper hedging.

It seems like this thread has cooled off recently.

    Anyway, I just put on a July RUT 710/760/810 Fly @ 14.10 mid. Coupled that with a few July/Aug 760 Cal spreads @ 8.65 mid (1:2 ratio).

  10. Our captain jumped ship a long time ago, and the ship is just drifting aimlessly. :(
