Yeah, that was one of the low-sensitivity trades. I liked it and considered doing it, but my book was packed with baby flies. GOOG made my month considering I had less than $15k in risk in the ticker.
Chances are if it stays or stayed around the $30 mark I could've made more as day progresses... but the problem is there's so many legs to deal with, I decided to suck it up and just keep the $1K in profits. In the past I would've been greedy and held on. So a win on the psychological front for me as well. This is why i like the options threads- many people including the pros getting into similar trades (cash or paper) and dissecting it really good. First time I tried this particular trade too- after I learnt of it from the other thread. One trade doesn't do it but I think I'm creeping past the beginner trader mark finally. This forum has definitely helped.
Quote from jeffalvinson: 04-12-12 08:46 AM I entered a mechanical system (system from 2007) trade today: SPY May 135 puts Buy No. 1: 1.78 (filled) Sell Limit: 2.25 but if tanks before sell limit then Buy No. 2: 1.40 if fills, sell all at 1.95 Stop..........1.30 _______________________________________________ 04-13-12 07:39 AM Moved my Stop to 1.95, not holding puts over the weekend. _______________________________________________ The new stop hit at 1.94, the small profit on this old system trade is listed on the attached excel with the new system trades.
I am attempting to get into this new system trade: SPY May 140 calls: Buy Limit: 1.35 (not filled yet) Sell Limit: 1.75 (+30%) Stop: 1.00 Reward to Risk: 1.14 to 1.00 Win: + .40 Loss: -.35 With my new plan of trading both the new system and the old system, the signals are rolling out like toilet paper!
States the d-bag forexforex that EDITS a long to a short on GOOG before the ET timer elapsed. I can't for the life of me understand how Baron allows you to post after pulling such a blatant scam. The mods are then complicit. Hang your hat on the fact that I earned 140% on the calendar and predicted an open below $650. Trust in the fact that I would beat you tender if I ever met your skievey, fraudulent ass.
And don't forget his GMCR puts that he sold that, when the trade went south, was just on his watch list and not a trade at all. What a tool. ETA: Perhaps the reason the mods let him continue to post is because no one pays any attention to him anyway. His track record speaks for itself and he has well established himself here as a compulsive liar. He does provide, I suppose, a degree of entertainment value.
Is there a way to lock him out of this thread, seems like FF is just provoking fights without much contribution, esp now with those annoying fonts/colors. Well, at any rate I will start logging complaints on these types of provoking posts.
I suppose if enough people hit the "complain" button on his posts that might get some attention, but why bother? I mean, if he wants to continue to make a fool of himself why not let him? Perhaps he is intentionally being disruptive but I really don't think so. Personally, I think he is too stupid to realize the low regard in which he is held here and no doubt, in his life.
It's unfortunate that an attempt is made to ruin one of the worthwhile option threads. IMO, any attempt to flip a position through the edit window should result in a ban; but I suppose it would result in the loss of thousands of ET members held to that standard. It's obvious that the mods don't trade.
