Just checked LULU and IHS I had marked as Earnings today. Nothing on LULU so maybe that is after the close. But IHS dropped considerable.
For Calendars in TOS, pick "Calendar" from that little "Spread" box on the top middle of the options orders page. (I'd use the Desktop Version). You will now see the strikes change to Calendar Spreads! Atticus is referring to the weekly march option expiring next week and the april expiration. TOS gives the Calendar atticus suggested as: Mar5 12/ Apr 12 Expand the list of spreads under that and select the 700/700 calendar. Click on the ask price. Done.
Not trying to be picky, but didn't March expiration already happen on March 16th? Maybe that's why it defaulted to May. Don
We can 'predict' this stuff by looking at the futures to being with. See how many S&P points down they are, adjust for beta maybe. At least get a clue which way things are going to open. Just trying to help. Don
Currently have an 2700/2725/2750/2775 NDX condor expiring today Will see how that plays out. Hopefully the price won't jump beyond 2750 or below 2725 tomorrow morning. I HATE that open price calculating blah blah yada yada bullshit. Why can't they make it like the SPX with same day closing price as the settlement value? Don, any benefits to traders from this next-day-open-price settlement that CBOE does? May the theta Gods be with me.
Jury is out on the settlement pricing. I don't like the SPY settlement at all, either the underlying or the options. Don
No way to know for sure whether it closes above or below strike prices at times. They wait for Standad and Poors to determine the closing price, regardless of what we see on our quote window. Has been a bit disconcerting several times. Don
