My OPTION TRADES..... part 2

Discussion in 'Options' started by Put_Master, Aug 20, 2012.

  1. I'd like to see BRCM trade back down to todays low range of $31.29 - $31.40.
Several weeks ago stock was at $37. Currently trading at $31.50.
If it retraces todays earlier trading range, the credit offered for the Dec $29 contract would be in the $0.52 - $0.55 range.
That would pay an annualized % return in the 14 - 15% range.

Quality company. Fundamentals are a bit mixed. But financially healthy.
Very good 2 year tech support in the $31 - $31.30 range, and again in the $28 - $29 range.
Hence my desire for a $29 strike, with a BE price of $28.48 - $28.45.... depending on which credit I get.

  2. Sold puts on $29 BRCM for Dec.
    Credit $0.52
    Annualized % return.....14%

Really like the L-T support of this financially healthy company at $31, and again in the $28 - $29 area.
Hence my BE price of $28.48.... which is also a good price value.

I'm currently on as much margin leverage as I want to be.
Thus, I'm not planning on anymore trades, until the final week before my Nov option trades expire.
If they all remain otm that final week, I'll then consider additional Dec or Jan trades.

  3. Do they let you smoke medical pot where you live? I've heard it does wonders for glaucoma.

  4. Nov 6 trades.

bought 6 DTV JAN 48.00 calls for 2.36 ea.
sold 4 DTV JAN 48.00 calls for 3.25 ea.

DTV currently 50.38 is a good company.

has a report coming out in a couple of weeks.

It took a dip this morning so I snatched some up. Hope it keeps going up, but if it falls down to $48 I'll buy a few more calls.

If it drops further I look for it to bottom at about 46.65, at which point I'll by more.

  5. Dr. says pot for glaucoma is a scam.
    Says other drugs work better.
I've tried them all. Even had 4 eye surgerys, to get the pressure down.
Unfortunately the surgery only lasts 3 - 5 years.
Hopefully they will have better pot quality in a few years, when I need it.

  6. You'll be happy to know i am a DTV cutomer, and that i got others to sign up as well.
But I'm waiting for a drop to the low to mid 40's, before I invest in the company.
But as a paying customer, I'm glad to help you out in the meantime.

  7. Decided to close down most of my Dec trades.
Closed the ones where I kept 50 - 75% of the profit.... which is more than half of them.
The rest, which are the more recent trades, I'll wait and see what happens,... and buy them if they are put to me. They are all currently otm.
Letting my Nov puts hopefully expire next week.... as they are all currently otm.

  8. Decided to close all my Nov puts as well, as it only cost me $0.02 - $0.05 to close them.

  9. Yeah potheads will use about any excuse they can.
Some say it helps them concentrate on video games.
Others will say it makes food taste better.
I actually use it to cope with reality, not escape it.

Hopefully better medical/surgery technologies will surface within a few years to help you out. I'm overdue for a trip to the eye doc, myself. The lefty has been getting tired sooner than the right.

  10. Yesterday, NOV 7 sold (4) CIEN Jan13 12.50 calls for 2.oo ea.
    sold (3) CIEN Jan13 12.50 calls for 2.44 ea.

whew! was glad to see a gap-up yesterday instead of down...

also bought (6) KO Jan13 36.25 calls for 1.26 ea.
hoping KO , currently 36.77, will be able to hold its bottom of about 36.50, and that investors might seek refuge in it's dividends during this time of uncertainty. if it drops below the support, I will sell these at about a 25% loss. Then just wait to see another bottom.
