  1. I commend you on your strategy. Like the song goes, you say tomay-toe and I say to-mah-toe...doesn't mean we both won't make money. I'll still answer your good question more specifically:

    ....2 reasons:

    #1. I have a day job
#2. I am almost always right and, if the fish are biting, you use the same bait.

Thanks for your intelligent question and your well thought out post.

So do I....that's why there's a new thing called stop and limit orders:D ....but on a serious note, risk reward ratio isn't really there either unless it hits your target......and worse is the fact that you could be in a meeting and POOF! there goes the $$ ( that happened to me)....If I was going to hold 6 weeks to get 3000.00.....Id buy a call...This way if im wrong, im out a grand or two...if im right. i make my 3000+....what is the advantage of buying the stock versus a 3 month call?

  3. wow..scathing, but all-too-true

and how many daytraders (myself included) don't get into a position **intraday** without setting limits and conditions for getting out?

  4. True enough mrmarket is not a trader but investor. While I can appreciate the attitude, I have to say to someone so bright and always right, why dont you step up and trade for a living?? Ive traded for ten years and looking at this stock makes me wonder why now?? What makes this a buy now??

    D:confused:

  5. "At today's PE, that will drive the price up to $27.30"

I never heard of a PE bidding for a stock. How is it their revenues exploded this year by what looks like over 200%, but the earnings
    expanded only linearly, it appears?

So true, so true. By the way I love the metaphor. Or is that a simile? LOL I don't know I always get those two confused. Oh well anyway as I was saying it is foolish to change what is working so well, and has been for quite some time. (You don't mind, do you? Me calling you Ernie, I mean? If you do, I will stop.)

Great trading models don't come along every day, do they. You know I almost forgot .. you never answered my question. How did you discover your model? Did it come to you in a flash of insight? Or was it something much more methodical and analytic? I'd love to know, those things fascinate me.

    Please let me know.

ps please call me Alice. it is my real name.:)

  7. That explains a lot.

BTW Ernie, this came in for you - though I'd better forward it on, as it seems to be about as sensible as YOUR investment strategy...

  8. I already have a day job which I enjoy, who said that trading was the nirvana for which everyone must seek?

Would you like for me to explain how my stock picking model works?

  9. Demand for the stock will drive the price up.

  10. Alice,

I've tinkered with it ever since I was a grad student at Wharton. That's what grad students do, besides drinking beer and chasing women.
