$2400 pa is not cheap for the use of a trading platform. Unless of course it had some unique benefits which gave an edge. Prolly suited for more advanced traders, not so much the retail type trader?
Its $150 a month and its not hard to generate 1 trade a month where I can make more than that because the platform gave an edge in terms of reacting faster or being able to see information more clearly
Well, you can't go back, if you don't have access to the old versions, which was my point... Ironically, the Beta version allows you to save new presets successfully (persisting between sessions), but my old presets are corrupted for good it seems -- unless I can dig up an old TWS version somehow. How on earth can IB release a "stable" version of TWS that cannot even save a preset? it's beyond me at this point.
While I am in complaint mode....I have been asking for 10 years for IB to put the most important number of all -- Daily P&L -- in the Trader Dashboard header. But no, it's still hidden within the Portfolio tab. No way to keep an eye on it without looking at that tab. Meanwhile, back in mobile TWS (a much, much better group of developers), they prominently display Daily P&L so you can monitor it. I've tried numerous features poll requests, many phone calls, but the two lines of code it would take are apparently too onerous for these guys.. W-T-F
If there is anyone from IB on this board, please chime in with what is going on with the preset debacle in TWS.
The original developers prolly all moved on, they've been used and spat out or forced out by low wages, replaced by budget engineers which better suits this budget software company.
Tom? GAME PENALTY! Get yourself a UPS setup to couch your systems in the event of a power failure, and you will have nary a worry in the world on losing power. I am surprised to see you mention this. :-(
Dude! I have *two*. But they don't last forever. One (lights, audio, printer) gives you ~5minutes. (It's an antique; mostly for clean power, not UPS purposes.) The other (desktop, ISP/gateway, monitors) goes maybe ~10-15minutes -- something which *might* get me out of sketchy positions, depending on my willingness to eat the vig... (said willingness set to increase geometrically as the Poisson-driven clock ticks on towards screeny-inky-black death....) So, either I'm out of the house in 15 minutes, or I'm out of the trade. To outfit for more than that (equipment-as-insurance) is not supported by historic events (in terms of outages actually experienced over the past x-many years)... As the primary UPS ages (gets below 10 minutes?), I'll move it to ancillarys use, and get a new primary...
