I'm curious about what criteria your scanner used to pick out SEBL today. For example, what time of day it came up, was it based on momentum, etc. I was in SEBL today also, but I sold my position by 10AM (d'oh!)

It showed up very early in the day. I liked the momentum behind it and traded it all day :) The last trade I remember was buying it at 30.66 and selling at 30.94 in a minute or two very close to the closing bell. I held the original 6000 shares and will sell if it falls below 30.

I also visited the Elite Trader chat room in the spring of 98, but I wasn't very active. That was back when Baron and co. were mainly daytrading Dell.

Whatever happened to the guy who was very active in the chat room and was a cabbie by night and a daytrader by day. Does anyone know if he's still trading?

There also was another guy who quit his IT job to trade full time. He would post his trade setups the night before. I know he would enter buy & sell stops before the market opened and would manage the trades after they were hit. He mainly traded 200 share lots. Anyone know if he's still trading? Was that you Tony?

Nesi the cab driver, I think he was active with Ken wolff as well. I don't know who that other guy was. The active ones that I can remember were:
Len, TradeWeb, JerryR, Major, Mazel, Smartmoney, Schonie, Daytrader1, RickSea, Celtic, LLB, Sandon, and of course Baron. There were many others, but to be honest I'm surprized that I remember this many handles :) I was active in the chat through July 98 or maybe June.

I would assume you made seven digit this year, if that's the case you comfortably rank top ten in my firm, which is the second largest firm in this country behind Schonfeld.

    Hello everyone,

I'd like to put my two cents in on the issue of commercialism. For those of you in the minority that don't like Tony's posts (or talk of Anthony Robbins seminars, et al) I would like to put forth an idea which you may or may not find useful. Instead of determining a particular thread/post to be good or bad, try thinking in terms of: is this useful information to help me achieve my outcome. If it is great, use it. If not, that's fine too. But please don't make the assumption that it's not valuable to anybody. I've been trying to figure this trading thing out for about two years now. Frankly, if it wasn't for the info (sometimes very commercial) that I get out of boards like this I wouldn't have gotten to the level I'm at. Remember to focus on your outcome. If something puts you off to the point where it's sapping you of time and energy it's time to consider rethinking where your energies are being directed. Redirect the time it takes to complain into planning your next profitable trade, and I bet you'll be a lot happier all the way around. Thanks for letting me speak my piece.

Thank you for your measured response to my comments.

First on the subject of vendor use and abuse of this bulletin board, I hope you saw my comments on this subject on Page 32 of the Trading Methods and Techniques thread, particularly the last paragraph. My problems in this regard on this board were with one particular vendor.

You have responded to my remarks regarding vendor accountability on page 18 of the Trading Methods and Techniques thread. Please excuse the "silence speaks volumes" comment in a later post in your case. I did not know you were on vacation and you are clearly not silent on the issue. On page 18 my remarks were addressed to the vendor community in general, but particularly those who had previously participated in that thread and were intended to be generic in nature. I did highlight a quote from you, but only because you were the only one who had chosen to address the issue previously and because I thought I could propose a more effective response than the measures you outlined.

In the current thread, Hitman has also obliquely referred to the issue of cherry-picked results while not accusing you of anything untoward. Neither would I. But it is a generic concern when viewing the vendor community as a whole. As are others that I raised. You suggested in response to Hitman that you might post a journal of your trades. All I ask is why you would not go that one step further and trade an actual independently verified account as I suggested in the other thread?

Do that and you set new industry standards in vendor accountability, you remove any lingering doubts that anyone might have about your own credibility and, as I said in the other thread, provide yourself with the ultimate marketing tool.

Please do not take my remarks as a personal attack. None is intended. I thought I had provided a reasonable, rational argument on the issue of vendor accountability in the other thread. So far no vendor has told me what is so unreasonable about the suggestion I made.

  10. the only lingering doubts exist inside your head duffy.. why would Tony put himself through so much trouble to contribute FREELY to this board? its take it or leave it.. even if he had "independent verified" results, then you would still find some way to be critical.. dont start your nonsense here..
