Good stuff Marsman, hope you do well. If you're able to do 30%, all the power to you! Would be fantastic returns. Don't let a goal change your strategy or your psychology. Don't let a goal that you set actually make your performance worse, because you try to change things to reach that goal. I wonder if goals in trading can provide real value in terms of boosting performance. Maybe? Good stuff man.
There are about 4000 underlyings with monthly options (ie. in the week of the 3rd Friday of the month all of these can be seen as weeklys...)
Thx. To be honest: that number is from my POV even a conservative number... When I started 3 weeks ago, in the first week I did only 2 trades to learn the system. After that I increased the # of trades much higher. So, I didn't make full use of the 1st week.
It's doable -- don't let anyone tell, or convince, you otherwise. Weekly options are volatile. You can even do more then that, somewhat easily. But the more Crazy or Wild or ambitious you get...expect some mood swings -- like those two drama masks...one frowning, one laughing.
Ah, we have ourselves another sim-inspired, starry-eyed master of the universe here... Best of luck to you! Have you considered what 30%/month gains are going to do to your "AUM"? Have you then contemplated what that means for the sizing of your "strategy" vs the mkt?
Hey mods, what are you doing? What happened to the many vanished postings of the people? There were postings of rmorse and of other posters. They are all gone! rmorse had also announced to PM me, but there is nothing from him in my mailbox. Is this a deliberate/intentional action (aka censoring / filtering / deleting), or is there a bug in the system?
To make much more than 76% p.a.... No, the 76% p.a. figure is a good value among the portfolio managers, but my method so far gives much much more. I've to test it throughly to understand how it comes. It seems I'm taking much higher risks, and that could be right as I'm trading mostly very volatile titles, though I'm making much use of probabilities to be on the safe side... And: I'm specialised on options whereas many portfolio managers are doing only stock or index trading... And of course this: the bigger the account, the harder it gets to make high profits. PMs usually manage OPM worth multiple hundreds of millions, even multiple billions of $. So, the $1M used here is relatively small compared to their big AUMs. An investor (single person) in HongKong has suggested me to make this paper trading to convince him of my claims. He's currently on a lengthy world trip, I'm in negotations with him either for an investment or me becoming a trader of him...
