  2. Good rundown FX245...I looked at Collective2 long before finding FX-Auto, and I must say that my FX-Auto portfolio would be different than it is now if all the C2 systems were available here...we are missing some good ones. However, the system provider must be willing to put his/her system on FX-Auto, obviously.

In addition, the results on C2 tend to be a little bit better than those posted on FX-Auto for some reason. Also, it seems that some newer systems on FX-Auto don't quite know how to issue signals properly and then end up with a bad start that doesn't match their C2 trades. Most end up matching fairly closely though after a little while.

  3. Hi tycanadian,

How is your account on fx-auto going?

Fx245 seems to have been very successful so far and it will be interesting to see if this level of performance can be sustained.

Also question for Fx245 - how do you work out 94% yearly return. 14% compounded per month will work out to be much more than 94% annually. Of course, your equity curve won't be smooth for long and a drawdown period must be ahead soon. Thats trading.

mini account - as far as I understand, a standard account is only interesting once your equity is bigger then 50K.

    thanks for your question !

    thanks.

fx-auto has some signal recruitment work left - that's correct, but the more succesfull they will become the easier it will be ...

that's correct - we need to watch out with several signals taking a bad start on fx-auto - I noticed that eg with Winning Solutions

thanks for your feedback - keep it coming !

it would be amazing wouldn't it ? let's see where this is going ...

for everyday I calculate what the compounded yearly return would be (lately +160% - before, when I was under my start capital, it was minus), and then average this over all days since day 10 - so the longer we run, the better this stat becomes ...

could you share your results, if any ?

  7. Down about 20% after a few months. I had Clayburg, Enterprise, OMNI and experimented with a few others. I have probably jumped about too much though I have always kept my leverage low. I usually selected the provider after a period of good performance getting in just as they were about to hit a period of drawdown.

You have been justing a different set of signal providers. It will be interesting to see how long your selection is able to keep it up.

My guess is most of the traders go wrong by simply selecting the most profitable systems by looking at the performance page. FX-Auto performance page contains lots of mis-leading information and it's best to demo trade your portfolio and have a real feel about how each signal provider reacts for different market condition on live trading before you invest your real money.

The secret behind Fx-auto is you really have to mix swing signals which usually has larger drawdowns with short term signals with smaller drawdowns for the same currency pair.

You also have to diversify your portfolio with different currency pairs as well as crosses.

You should never allocate more than 5% in total for a one signal provider.

If a biggest loosing trade of a particular signal provider is more than 10% of your capital , avoide that provider, no matter how profitable they were in the past.

You must selct atleast 4 different pairs, a combination of majors & crosses and 6-10 signal providers on your portfolio.

Before selecting a new signal provider make sure they have a performance history of atleast 2 months with Fx-auto ( no matter how well they have performed with C2 )and atleast 10 trades with fx-auto for the relevent pair.

Most of all demo trade your selected portfolio atleast for 2 months before you invest your real money. In those 2 months if you loose 10% or more of your capital at any given time your portfolio is too risky.

    Just my idea:)

  9. I think the problem with constructing a portfolio of trading systems is, that it can create a false sense of security.

It is quite easy to get a nice looking portfolio equity curve from a bunch of bad systems. Because the portfolio curve looks nice, you think you're on to something, while in fact you're trading just a bunch of bad systems. It's still garbage in, garbage out in that case.

My criteria are that any system I trade has to have excellent reward/risk statistics by itself and a sufficient history to make these statistics meaningful (e.g. at least a year). I always ask the question: Would I feel confident trading this system all by itself with my entire trading capital. If the answer is "yes", I'm happy to include it in my portfolio of trading systems.
