Open discussion of trading ideas, no open criticism of trades gone bad, comraderie, free lunch, topless masseuses every Friday, good tech support, trading contests/events, etc. When I traded at a prop firm, NONE OF THIS EXISTED. Miserable. It was miserable.
This was a good thread until TRYKtrading arrived and decided to post everything except what this thread is about. Maybe it is the business of trading or the human condition. I see this in my office as well from certain people. What I see here and in my office is that unsuccessful people associated with trading are always trying to qualify themselves to other traders -- in regards to their side business, their outside investments, past successes, AND especially in trades that they WERE IN but were shaken out of... "To perform under pressure, you need to control that pressure. To control the pressure, you need to know that pressure. To know the pressure, you need to experience that pressure. It's painful but traders need to be willing to experience pain. So more pain we go through, the better we become." ------Great Quote TSGannGalt.....great great great quote. Seriously.
so are we ALL to assume that you, The Great TrueProp, is THE be all and end all last word, the all-knowing, all-seeing, omniscient authority on prop trading in the world because you managed to steal someone elses words to make your point? seems a bit off topic to me... that you never had a learning curve. you never failed. you never had a losing trade. you never went all-in and blew out. you never got raped on a bad execution. your systems never froze up in the middle of an insane volatility swing. that no other traders ever influenced your exit decesions. that you...get my point by now. I'll refrain from name calling but feel free to assume I didn't. again, it seems as though the jerkoffs that inhabited this board like tapeworms inside the belly of the beast that is the stock market, when someone like me comes along that pisses on your parade, it's tough medicine to swallow being proven you were and will remain the problem. that is, until a cure is found to eliminate the disease entirely. nurse, a shot of antibiotics for the patient. and bring me the rustiest infected needle you have. this one is going to bite back. have a nice trading day. rb.
it must have been intolerable. the ideal prop trading firm would be all of the below with the exception that 99% of the traders lose money. no. wait. reverse that. make money. prop traders are supposed to make money. or so the ads on craigslisy promise... in my scenario, you make money, you get paid, and you get perks. lots and lots of perks. or hit the bricks. simple.
here's an even better quote from a truly wise, anonymous, source: "control is an illusion." definition: tryk: pressure [ÃËpreÃÆÃâ¢] noun the amount of force exerted by the action of pressing. emphasis [ÃËemfÃâ¢sis] noun ââ¬â plural ÃËemphases [-siÃÂz] stress [stres] noun force exerted by (parts of) bodies on each other force or emphasis placed, in speaking, on certain words in speaking etc. greater force of voice used in words or parts of words to make them more noticeable. accent [ÃËÃâ¢ksÃâ¢nt] noun a mark used to show the stress on a syllable. ps. You're right. It was off topic, but I thought I would let the guy know I actually got a lot from his post. Think of the message, not the messenger. As far the other BS about not having a learning curve goes...you must've pulled that out of your ass. I definitely had about a 7 month learning curve before I made back all my initial trading losses - that was my tuition as we call it. I have never went all-in and blew up however...never will. I have been owned by the specialist on bullshit fills. Other traders have certainly influenced my decisions...a lot less so now than when I first started however...but that happens when you sit next to guys that are incredible traders. I've never called myself great, but if you want to call me the "Great TrueProp" feel free to do so. Good luck the rest of the day.
I have that loser TRYKtrading on ignore, but I just read his whiny response when TrueProp quoted him. You can tell he is a complete failure just by the anger he shows towards successful traders. TRYKtrading = Failed Prop Trader Put that mook on ignore so you're not subjected to his teary eyed negativity.
