Thanks for your questions regarding my returns, I have made a return for the month of 2.9% on invested capital of $200k. I agree that if I exited my positions today I would realise a loss of approx 8K (that is including the premiums received). However I compare it to owning a property in this current market, that say you paid $200k for 6 months ago, and you receive rent of $2k per month which is a 1% return on your invested capital, let's say that today the house is worth $190k. In theroy you have an unrealised loss of $10K, if you sell today, but you still make your return based on your invested capital, if you keep the house eventually when the market improves, so will your capital gains. I use my stock portfolio the same way, as an asset to make cashflow, I know the portfolio value will fluctuate up and down, But I want to hold these stocks for the long term, to get long term growth and short term cashflow. I hope that answers your questions.
