My dog knows when the day is done

Ok, I have a Jack Russel Terrier. It is arguably the smartest dog breed on the planet. I have more examples of this than I can count with my dog.

However, there is one that is a bit strange. My dog knows when I have stopped working. I am not kidding. He won't "say" a thing when I am trading, but gawd forbid I go and lie on the couch and watch tv or read after work - I get nothing but grief about getting my ass up and going to the park or the dogie beach etc.

Now, I am not surprised that he knows that I am done working because I have the TV on and the bell rings at EOD, and I am not surprised that this dog has made this correlation, or it could be that I walk from one room to another, or both together. But why is work in his head categorized so important that he leaves me alone during work hours, and not leisure?
