I was on the opposite end of you on that trade. But thank you for insulting me by stating that I can't see the obvious. Just kidding, I shorted the LEAPs version of Roku PUT, so we'll see who laughs last Could be a win for both. If things go really bad, I expect Cathie to step in and give her own version of Geenspan's PUT to keep me afloat.
It was not directed at you, it was to my trading friend who went long after I called him saying it was a short. Sorry if it seemed that way!
Yesterday I went short on PANW and though profitable it was the most miserable trade of the month. The buyers and crowded short was painful on the down side. With NVDA earnings looming, I got lucky. The biggest clue was how fast the puts decayed. I think my AMD opening $165 calls were more pleasant though less profitable. Panw Averaged around $4 $265 puts, highest out $8.50.
NVDA I bought $760 calls, $780c and $775 March in various accounts. Ave $760 was $12.80? Less than $19 on the $775c and $6.68 on the $780c. Trading Nvda was easier than PANW, the buying and tiny drops made sense all while climbing. When it refused to bust $770 after hitting $781, I added more for the Close once it confirmed. NVDA at $799 in AH, I figured it would open at $800 but didn’t want the risk on Friday’s calls. I kept a couple of the March, a few.
The Feb $800 calls were screaming at $1.7-$2.5 when it retested $770, power stock is $803. If I had courage and wheels I would be a bike.
I have been nibbling on BYON $30 calls, volume exploded. I know Marcus has been buying shares, interesting play. 3675 volume March 15 $30. Bought WMT May $175, grabbed 10 ave $6.55.
