Cool thread. Just to throw this in the mix, I take a daily supplement called Alpha Brain, which improves brain functions like processing speed and memory. It's probably the one supplement I take that I really miss when I run out of it.
Interesting list of ingredients. I see it has bacopa. I have noticed faster memory recall from using bacopa -- it's like the information your looking for pops into existing out of your subconscious instantly.
Has huperzine and vinpocetine in it too. both proven nootropics. Have to cut back on your coffee with some of those nootropics or you can get pretty wired mixing them together. I think the bacopa goes in the other direction and smooths the other two out a bit. On the other hand, it is a way to jumpstart the day a bit without coffee. Coffee is not to be poo-pooed as evil though. It has some fairly remarkable antioxident and brain protective mechanisms too.
I already take a B-Complex and Amino acid tablets daily, amongst others -- So I don't think I need this, that much. The obvious basics like well-rested/sleep, a diet high in quality protein, exercise, tea/coffee, a fresh shower, sex/or getting off...all more than seem to already keep my memory sharp, My earphones are basically on all day listening to a variety of songs, and movies and documentaries and audio books...so that helps to constantly keep my head alert, or slightly processing,
