I would prefer if you had used the word "Almost" before Nobody. Some people out there laugh @ 20% returns, most of course dont.
I realize this is an old post, but it's worth mentioning. Unlike most charting sites, Stockcharts incorporates dividends and fund distributions into its historical prices. Their comparison chart shows a much more accurate representation of the total return comparison. http://stockcharts.com/charts/performance/perf.html?OBOCX,SPY,QQQQ
Nitro, your Dad's funds are ok. Pretty low beta, and at least positive alpha. C shares are a little expensive to hold onto (211bps/yr on the conservative growth fund), but I take it he has a shorter time horizon? If he wants out of them (if he's held them over a year), he can dump them with no cdsc. Hope that helps.
That is very useful. Thanks. A more complete chart http://stockcharts.com/charts/performance/perf.html?OBOCX,SPY,QQQQ,OCGCX,TLT
nitro's daughter's Father's Day prayer .... "Dear God, this year please send clothes for all those poor ladies in daddy's computer. Amen."
I was hoping not to have to spell this out for you, thinking you would catch on. Try going back to Nitro's original post and reading it again. Pay attention to the date. Make note of the phrase: "...in this environment." There now, I've spelled it out for you. I hope that helps.
