I thought Ashan gave a pretty lucid explaination for why he chose to step back from continuing his journal (which was a voluntary effort to begin with yes?).

As far as the methodology, the books "Intelligent Futures Trading" and "Trading Day by Day" outline a method of trading which I've personally seen return profits for over 2 years running and is based on the work of a recognized expert with over 40 years experience in this field.

Nevertheless, one of the key principles of Chick Goslin's work is that the future is after all unknowable-- the very best you can hope to do is align yourself with probabilities. The corollary of that being...sooner or later, you're probably going to be really, really, wrong and it’s going to be really, really expensive.

Therefore, in my view, offering up thoughts to an audience on how to successfully trade financial markets has to be an incredibly difficult thing to do, given that the Capital Markets are bigger than any of us and, sooner or later, you're going to make a call that's not only going to be completely wrong but also pretty expensive and, oh yeah, public as well.

It seems to me, in many ways, offering financial market commentary to a broad audience is akin to laying your head in front of a Guillotine, and frankly, my hat's off to anyone who can do that in a serious way (and live to tell the tale).

In summary, I think the value of this particular Forum is that it offers a person the chance to take an incredible risk and attempt this enormously difficult undertaking in an environment where other Traders understand the risks, the pressures, and the dangers of sharing ideas in the face of daunting uncertainty; or rather, in a situation where the only real certainty is that sooner or later you're going to be (or look) dead wrong.

But then again...maybe I’ve got this all wrong and you're completely right.

Whatever the case, may you be well and may you have great success at whatever you do.

For those that do not know. Chick Goslin is now taking subscriptions for his nightly market letter. If you donate, you get em fast. But everyone can read them online for free. Albeit, he does not publish them till late.

It is good to have Chick writing again.........now I can have an excuse to call him. That is what is great about Chick. He will take a subscriber's question on his private line. :)
