I am a day trader and i trade off a new HP laptop with another LCD hooked to it. but anyhow, it has 2 audio outputs as well.

But i am looking for a program that will mute WINAMP when somone talks over YAHOO messenger (i am in like a conference room when trading). i like to listen to music, but usually miss what they say because the music is playing. is there somthing that will mute it or lower the volume automatically, then bring it back up when the other source is done making noise? any ideas?

all you have to do is set wimamp speaker at low and computer speaker at high.

  6. Not sure I understand the logic of that. If you simply create a permanent differential in sound level between your media player program and your PC -- rather than a temporary one-way auto mute between apps -- wouldn't that force you to listen to music at volume that's probably too quiet? Otherwise, the other, intermittent app, as well as other Windows sounds, would be startlingly loud.
