  1. They burned down the Danish and Norwegian embassies in Syria.

Should earn them more friends around the world.

  2. The Danish embassy in Beirut has been destroyed now too. The E.U. has shown nothing but appeasement towards radical Islam... and now, they get the typical Islamic reward.

why do liberals like to feed the crocodile regardless of the facts so very often.

The eastern europe would still be soviet had Carter and liberals dems stayed in control.

Some forms of speech are illegal, like the old example, shouting "fire" in a theatre. You have to understand your context.

  5. Europe Free Speech? They are much too busy with spreading Socialism the last 50 years.
(remember Orwell: "some are more equal than others" :D)
Very little left of truly free speech - only the news that fits. Most of the press, now mainly TV, is practically always effectively tightly State controlled, either directly or stealthly indirectly.

  6. as far as i can tell it's the bush admin doing the appeasement

"In a strongly worded statement, a U.S. State Department spokesman said Friday that, despite respect for the freedom of expression, the publication of cartoons that incite religious or ethnic hatreds is unacceptable."

  7. But is that the context of these cartoons?

The State Department has long been infested with liberals. After that statement was made, Rice gave McCormack a kick in the butt, and he came out again with a better viewpoint:

'WASHINGTON -- The State Department yesterday condemned as "offensive" cartoons in a Danish newspaper depicting the prophet Muhammad but defended the paper's right to publish them as a fundamental principle of democracy.'

Still not as tough a stand as I would like, but they are diplomats - people who make politicians look like they have spines. And WTF is the State Department doing commenting on this anyway? Shouldn't that be left to Rice or somebody else on the cabinet? The SD spokesjoke should only be commenting on State Department matters, not publically staking out US positions. That's a job for the higher ups.
