Here is a question, beside the obvious question of whether or not you have a sense of humor. Have you congratulated surf yet on his Microsoft prediction? Signs of brain activity would have bet on surf. Look at your challenge, and the response, and the results, where surf called the bottom within a penny..... I'll stick with the math that surf uses, and leave the Barney stuff to you...... ____________________________________________________ oddiduro Member Registered: Dec 2002 Posts: 46 12-10-02 06:11 AM marketsurfer It is my understanding that is what this board is about, traders pushing one another. It is also my understanding that you are one of the best. Therefore, if there are gaps in MM, they will be found. Speaking of MSFT, after drawing a daily grid for this stock, it appears that a reversal is immenent. It will be short term as we are in a bear market environment. Upside target, 56.25 +/- .39 cents Surf's response to the challenge: odd, thank you for the kind words. i think there is a misunderstanding--i have nothing against "murrey math". any system is better than no system. it is what i consider outrageous claims about murrey and his exploits that i question. how about this as our "challenge". i bet you MSFT will hit 51.25 before it hits 56.25. i have determined this using my methodology. lets see what happens ! best, surf Microsoft: Jan 3 2003 53.80 52.88 53.79 26,622,642 Jan 2 2003 53.75 51.71 53.72 32,107,680 Dec 31 2002 52.99 51.26 51.70 26,917,000 Dec 30 2002 53.24 52.27 52.75 23,423,108 Dec 27 2002 54.00 52.90 52.97 19,955,920 Dec 26 2002 54.69 53.17 53.39 18,252,200 Dec 24 2002 54.23 53.52 53.82 9,151,618 Dec 23 2002 54.28 52.90 54.00 22,664,076 Dec 20 2002 53.72 52.95 53.04 41,357,280 Dec 19 2002 54.75 52.88 53.11 39,684,696 Dec 18 2002 54.40 52.79 53.53 29,852,284 Dec 17 2002 54.99 53.78 54.36 23,359,146 Dec 16 2002 54.55 52.67 54.48 27,823,924 Dec 13 2002 53.75 52.49 52.50 30,568,920 Dec 12 2002 55.06 53.69 54.17 27,175,096 Dec 11 2002 55.02 53.58 54.66 34,331,544 Dec 10 2002 54.48 53.48 54.01 31,057,320
Galileo had no notion of equivalence of inertial and gravitational masses, it was introduced or rather suspected by Newton and used as the basis of general relativity by Einstein. It is commonly associated with his name now. It is a postulate that is very well confirmed experimentally. Applying this to the markets is not very justified, to say the least, in fact it cannot be applied to any other branch of physics, so why would it work in the markets? Your 'explanation' is one more reason why I cannot trust MM. It is simply another mumbo-jumbo that may even do disservice to the MM method. I have a Ph.D. in theoretical physics. Next time try harder. Not everyone here will buy this kind of 'explanation'.
I do have a sense of humor, when the jokes are good.... I had spoken with surfer since then. I told him that the support I had set was very loose, and it was quite possible that he could be correct. Of course, you skipped that post. Now that you are done riding anothers coattails, what contributions do YOU have to add?
You have a sense of humor about murrey math? That's debatable. If recognition of greatness is riding coattails, ride baby ride!!! It all depends if you are seeking fame or fortune. Fame is fleeting, fortunes last when properly managed. I am more interested in trading proven systems developed by proven traders than trying to prove or disprove something about murrey mirth. Why haven't you responded to the physicist who called you on your misinformation in the previous post?
A Phd in theoretical physics, huh You didn't get that by mail order did you? Maybe you just need to sharpen up a little, here's some help. http://tycho.dm.unipi.it/~nobili/ http://tycho.dm.unipi.it/~nobili/murst/varenna2000/var_sec_1.pdf http://physics.syr.edu/courses/modules/LIGHTCONE/newton-gr.html Now you are right about one thing. Gallileo didn't know the significance of what he was doing. So, as I said before, the theory is solid, maybe you just forgot it. And as far as what you believe, it is not relevant to the efficacy of the system, and it is very effective.
I understand why the logic does not follow for you. If you had not followed surf over the past several years as I have, you would not know the greatness to follow.
After reading your post again, I have concluded that you in fact have nothing to add. Well that okay, keep hanging around, and eventually you will learn something. As I said before, I can post consistent profits with MM, in real time, or daily. What can you do, other than shout from the stands?
A physicist and engineer and a murrey mathematician were sleeping in a hotel room when a fire broke out in one corner of the room. Only the engineer woke up he saw the fire, grabbed a bucket of water and threw it on the fire and the fire went out, then he filled up the bucket again and threw that bucketfull on the ashes as a safety factor, and he went back to sleep. A little later, another fire broke out in a different corner of the room and only the physicist woke up. He went over measured the intensity of the fire, saw what material was burning and went over and carefully measured out exactly 2/3 of a bucket of water and poured it on, putting out the fire perfectly; the physicist went back to sleep. A little later another fire broke out in a different corner of the room. Only the murrey mathematician woke up. He went over looked at the fire, he saw that there was a bucket and he noticed that it had no holes in it; he turned on the faucet and saw that there was water available. He, thus, concluded that there was a solution to the fire problem and he went back to sleep.
