Muni Bonds - accessing to Dealer pricing

I've been buying munis and I'm always annoyed by the mark up on the secondary market. Most of my financial problems would be solved if I could pick up small odd lots closer to the dealer to dealer price.

So, any good way to access the direct dealer prices?

Would I have to become a dealer (Series 7, sponsor, all that jazz)? Or is there another way to get the spreads or mark up down from the listed prices?

Any other good proxies that can execute the trade without fleecing me in the process?

What size are you trading? All brokers offer better pricing on larger lots. Also sometimes good prices on small clean-up lots, to get them off their books.

I'm going to be putting in around $7,000,000 to $10,000,000

any good recommendations on how to approach the banks and which ones to call?

Thanks for answering, by the way! Made my day happier.

Any big bank, or even online broker. Or a specialist firm like Muriel Siebert. I've always been able to get tight pricing on pieces of $100,000+.
