multiple routes out of hand

I must say, I have diff quote sources, and all are missing key routes.

No matter what you look at you don't get the full picture.

And im not talking about dark books.

 

The private responses were most enlightening.

 

While on the topic, why the proliferation of multiple ecn's in equities, as opposed to a single electronic platform such as Globex for futures? Wouldn't a unified platform facilitate liquidity for all players? Is it just a matter of time?
