A new MC user is asking in this thread http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=155112&perpage=6&pagenumber=1 if it is possible to have Time and Sales with any of the feeds with MC. I am also interested to know it. I would particularily want to get the time of the last incoming tick (for a study of mine: a function that returns the most recent price field update with a high precision - not minute but second). I asked this on TSS forum, but received no conclusive answer. I know there is such a thing like TradeTime (with minute precision) but a need something like TradeTime_s (second precision). Andrew, is it possible to have EasyLanguage Time&Sales in MC? Regards
Also, coupled with the above question, is there a service that works good just for backfilling and updating bad or incorrect TICK data at the EOD? Since using TransAct for my live data, I don't wish to pay top dollar for another live data service, or a ton of cash just to correct or backfill bad TICK data. Is there a service that provides this?
hi all, i just take pleasure in multicharts. just a small question, is it possible to get free eurusd data into multicharts? i need just eod data or delayed whatever. i have tried all symbol combinations i have found from the free quotes data feeds....at least i hope so. is there free currency eod data? thanks karla
Ok I am considering 2 new platforms, (1)CQG Integrated client or (2)Multicharts with CQG trader as the execution platform. I was considering Esignal, however with all the exchange fees, one might as well go with CQG integrated client IMO. We all know that CQG intergrated client is the best out there, flawless in data stream and execution, however, it is $500 bucks a month. My broker charges $25 per month for CQG trader(the execution part of CQG Intergrated Client) and I can get Multicharts wtih all exchanges for $99 per month. So it is either $500 or $125 depending on which setup I decide on. The question here is the last review of Multicharts on this website(trust me I do read Elitetrader sometimes and yes there is much ingnorance(no offense) on this board, however there are some very knowledgable folks here as well). The reviewer said that Multicharts has some glitches in how it plots the charts, here is the review./ I have both Multicharts and Ninja but can't use them for basic charts, both seem to be focusing on obscure requests before the basics are settled. For those using 24 hour symbols (like globex, the ES, YM) or any with some thin or overnight trading please be aware your charts are wrong. MC and NT just skip periods/bars with no trading, meaning an uneven compressed time line and therefore erroneous intraday charts - especially for drawing/line studies and maybe patterns and period based indicators. I know MC (like Tradestation) has a 'show empty periods' option. Try it - it doesn't work and hasn't since version 2. They know this and long ago on the forum refused to fix it as there are more important bells and whistles to work on..... Truly professional programs like CQG go to some lengths to take care of this, see page 4 here: http://www.cqg.com/Docs/CQGCharting.pdf On top of this, globex emini traders check your hourly charts. If you have the correct globex emini index session times selected for your symbol, after version 2 there has been a random extra hourly bar each day at around 4:30 pm. Maybe 'money machine' mathematicians and programmers don't care, but I wonder if many MC chart traders even know their charts are wrong - it can't help their trading. (Some of this is taken from my DTN Prophetx review - which I am now using) Ok does any experienced Multicharts user notice this problem, has it been corrected? Any feed back would be greatly appreiated, I would like to use this software, the very fact that is allow you to import Easy Language is just great. Any one with a reply, type it up!
I would still like a reply for my post above. The last user review for multicharts said that there was a "glitch" in the way the charts reads the data. Is there any truth to this? IF there was/is has it been fixed. If you need charting, you should look at this program. Way cheaper that Esignal if your broker will provide the global futures data feed. You can import any and all EasyLanguage spript, this alone makes it a closer look. Any replies on the user's review would be appreciated.
Ah, didn't think so! This is the only platform I know of that allows you to plot multiple futures contracts from multiple data soures with different time frames, all on one chart. If they can pull that off, Ido not see why they would overlook a potential glitch. I will give them a try. You got any favorite easylanguage setups that give high probility win rates?
New version 5 betas seem to have some problems with the new Digital Rights Management copy protection:
