Ah - OK, Thanks! Let's hope that this is resolved and the scanner is introduced and works, then we should have a great program....
The scanner is in the beta 4.0 I'm pretty sure. It won't have the text feature but that was promised to me in the next update. The first version is so we can work the bugs out of it. I have my "Raid" handy.
Having trouble when merging mapped historic ascii (daily) with IB live daily data on overnight sessions (corn, beans etc) - This evening Iâve updated my mapped historic ascii files to include all data to 19th Aug. The ascii historic data is appearing on the chart, however, IB live data seems to be overwriting the historic ascii bar data of 19th and giving me just the 'overnight' session data for this date, missing all the 'day session' data from 19th. Does anyone have a fix for this? Multi Charts support think it could be some kind of bug, which would seem possible, but has anyone else managed to get historic ascii and IB live (overnight sessions) to work on the same bar (date) in multi charts? I'm not sure how this would work in practice: - Iâm guessing Multi Charts would have to use the historic ascii up 23.59 18th August only, with IB live and backfill for all 19th August data (day and overnight session), then from 00.00AM 20th August, switch to historic mapped ascii for all 19th data, IB for 20th? My question: is the programme capable of handling this adjustment, and if so, which settings do I use to get this to work?
justed checked the charts again now at 12.10 EDT, seems like the ascii historic 'day' data for 19th is still missing (overwritten by IB live data for the overnight session only, 19th), any ideas? Many thanks for any help.
Has TSSupport abandoned their forum? No one from TSSupport has responded to any queries/bug reports since 9/4.
I've just started a one month trial of Multicharts to see what it's like. I have years of ASCII data saved that I'd like to import into Multicharts for charting and backtesting. If you look in the help file from Multicharts there is a section that tells how to import ASCII files but it's very vague and not of much use. Does anyone know if there are better instructions on how to import and chart ASCII data into Multicharts? I'd be happy to share my data with anyone who could help me if they're interested.
Thanks very much for the information on how to import data, it helped a lot. Just curious, does anyone know the relationship between Multicharts and Tradestation? Is Multicharts part of the Tradestation company somehow or is it an independant company? The subscription or lifetime membership for Multicharts is relatively expensive, does anyone know if there's a less expensive way to get a licence? Perhaps become a Beta tester or maybe there's a discount? I look at what I'll pay for Sierrachart over the next five years and that'll add up to close to the lifetime licence fee for Multicharts anyway.
