Hi Tums, Again many help for your help. Yahoo data will not help me cause I trade only futures on my local European exchange. It is my guess that the unrealistic return on account results from limited data I have. The result on a longer period might differ much. Thanks for the link to amazon.com. For weeks I have been thinking of buying an e-reader. I am a fan of digitalised stuff. Could not decide wheather I want Sony e-reader or Kindle. Since the book is available for Kindle my decision proccess is finished You have also helped me on deciding what sort of a fiancee I should look for. She should be speaking good English to understand the books I will be buying and have good programming skills backed by excellent math to program strategies to make me rich. I will post an adequate advertisement at department of math at the university tomorrow. You are already invited to the wedding. It can take a few years before I get rich... so there is no hurry What do you think of this: http://www.tradingsystemlab.com/flashdemo.aspx Can such a method of arriving at a good strategy by effected in MC? Regards
Hi bidask, there is a thread on the contract rollover at MC website: http://forum.tssupport.com/viewtopic.php?t=4969 It seems the contract rollover issue will be soon solved. Regards
There are many theories of market behavior. One being that if the instrument is a representative index, and that the trading is broadly participated, it will oscillate in certain fashion. Therefore I won't hesitate to use one of the US index data for backtesting experiment purposes. Your English is better than mine, you should be doing ok. I have my luggage packed. ;-) I am not familiar with TSL, but the product sounds interesting.
Beware if you are charting eminis, that an extra hour bar gets added than should not be there - just after the 3.15 close. Didn't check other intervals. I tried it with open tick data with the trading hours set up corrrectly in the symbol quote manager options as CME index emini globex. For this reason I'm sticking with Ninja charts for now, which are almost as good. Also the 'show empty periods' window option is still not working. Also when you try to clone a data source - such as for alternate delayed/rt or beta servers - changes to the clone still mess up the original.
Hello, Are / were you using this strategy? http://www.traders.com/Documentation/FEEDbk_docs/Archive/072007/TradersTips/TradersTips.html https://www.mta.org/eweb/docs/2007DowAward.pdf Regards
Quick question: Have MC 3.0 setup to trade ESM8. Datafeed is IB. Having recent issue trying to plot regular trading hours 930AM-4PM EST. Symbol "Settings": Sessions field is set to "Regular". As in Ninjatrader, there must be an area to manually set plot period? This is important for my stoch/ema analysis. Tx.
You can set the trading session in QuoteManager. Symbol > Edit Symbol, select Session tab. You can use one of the preset Session Templates, or create a custom one yourself. p.s. on your chart, you can choose 24hrs or Regular session. If you choose Regular session, the chart will display bars according to the Session Template you selected.
Hi guys, Have you tried to backtest any strategy with futures contracts or any other leveraged instrument in Portfolio Backtester? Were the results correct? If not, how did you manage to instruct the Portfolio Backtester to apply the BigPointValue only to the profit / loss on points and to ignore applying it to the margin? Regards Will very very much appreciate any help on backtesting futures contracts.
