I did not realize I should visit him in Russia, and drink something together to get normal treatment. You mean I can easily transfer the license I got against my will to anybody in any time? After 15-Apr-2008 it gonna be $1500, and now it's $1000. I can gladly transfer it to anybody who wants it in any moment, BEFORE OR AFTER 15-Apr-2008 to return the money taken from me against my will, and forget this unpleasant experience. I see, and I really glad for you, seriously! Unfortunately, I was not so lucky. Should I contribute my loss $1000 just because of your positive experience, even if I never ever gonna use this product ever? I realize that you invest a lot of time into the product already, and it's very costly to change something, even if the support was not nice. Maybe you even feel obliged to write all that for them, or even asked to. Not me. I'm not from competing company or something like this. I'm just freken' customer, on my own. I don't have 300+ ppl working for me. I'm earning my money hard, and I'm alone. I have my loss and was not able the cancel the pending transaction in the very day of purchase. The vendor does not care. He got my money. If he does not see me among the customers, I'm an enemy for him. He is hiding behind unability to prevent non-authorized use of this software, But this is just a lie. He can scratch license on their auth. server where software reports each 30 days. Sorry, but I can talk out of my own personal experience only. But I glad for you. Again, I was not so lucky at all. The vendor does not care if I use his software or not at all, as far as I don't want it. He just needs my money, even if I never ever gonna use it, THIS IS FOR SURE. I feel TERRIBLE.
I've read everything in regards to this matter between you and MC. Question, why didn't you download it and use it for 30 days or until you could decide whether you where happy with it first?
I was scared away by shareit.com first. I use elite top rate bank credit card that was initially rejected. So, I was under impression that transaction did not happen and decided never use this service and to not buy the software. If software vendor selling very expensive software cannot even afford the normal credit card processing, it's not Ok for me. I did not realize that looking at the pretty pictures and snapshots. But later, surprisingly, the transaction was approved, and I immediately contact TS Support, shareit.com to cancel it. No way!

[/QUOTE] My comment was not meant to upset you, simply to make a point that the company you are having a problem with has NEVER been a problem for myself or any of my co-traders (not employees). I do not work for MultiCharts as well or was asked to write what I did. You had the opportunity to test the product BEFORE you bought it and to read MultiCharts purchase policy BEFORE you bought it. Evidently you choose not to do either. Is that MultiChart's fault? You can sell your product key to whomever you can to recoup your money and that key can be loaded on any comuter and used. I would imagine that it will constitute a good value for anyone wishing to purchase MultiCharts after the April 15th since those individuals will be paying $1497 for it. In a week you could possibly make about a 47% return on your money.
I don't need any 47% return on my money, and only want my money back, and I agree to wait for after 15-Apr for that, but I need clear clean irrevocable guarantee that it is real and not a trick like they told us that it's impossible to invalidate license even if the software is authorized on the server each 30 days for the full life-time period, on the regular basis. So, I called to the support again and asked what about license transfer and the rep (it is always the same guy) told me that THE OFFICIAL POSITION OF THE COMPANY IS THAT THE LICENSE IS NON-TRANSFERABLE. That's why it's called LIFE-TIME license. As usual, the same rep promised to to talk to the manager who never available, and I'm in the mercy of his decision, as usual -- they love that! So I'm waiting for Mr No again. By the way, my bank can reverse charges (which means TS Support is waiting me in court), because, after installing THE TRIAL VERSION 3 I got memory addressing error exception. I did not do anything especially funny, just like a regular trader, quickly clicked any possible menu everywhere. I managed to reproduce this behavior twice out of 3 times. I'm not interested to be a beta tester. But can provide snapshots for my bank, even image of virtual machine that it's real. The charges reverse probably means TS Support triggers their promise to prosecute me in court. If the disgusting story gonna continue I have no other choice as counter-claim and publish from there. Don't take me wrong -- it is not what I want -- because I can find the better thing to do with my time and I much prefer to just get my money back and shut up.
I can see this conversation going no where. If the software hasn't been authorized using the key code, you can transfer it, that is simply computer common sense. MultiCharts support is telling you it isn't transferable AFTER it is authorized and locked to you. If you installed the trial version and had problems then that is even more reason NOT to purchase it in the first place . . . along with their purchase policy you didn't read. It's now midnight there and I would imagine if a manager wanted to address your request it would have to wait until he/she came back in the morning, 8 hours from now. I totally understand your frustration but simply reading their policy agreement before purchasing or not purchasing the product because of program behavioral problems interacting with your system would have eliminated the potential problem before it happened. Being proactive in purchasing hardware or software is a huge headache eliminator.
Do you represent this company, or just operate by YOUR common sense? Hey, is not it very clear from the very beginning that the software was never authorized and will never be authorized and/or locked to my computer. Of course, the rep perfectly realizes that. I was the sysadmin and software developer in the past. You should not explain me how to lock or unlock anything, Ok? Now, go ahead with your common sense, and tell me why the rep states that officially software license that I don't want touch by 6-foot pole is NOT TRANSFERABLE. He perfectly realizes that I never authorized or locked it to my computer. He knows that for sure and I made it absolutely very clear. Let operate by facts, Ok? Applying common sense or rational logic here would be extremely difficult. And, please don't confuse good software developers with civilized western type management, Ok? These people do not give a damn about future client base, for real. They think the software whistles are everything. It's so stupid to create totally f*cked system of protection to call russian auth. servers each 30 days, and at the same time claiming that it's impossible to protect or invalidate the license to keep money of client. What kind of software development and/or planning is that? Is it common sense? I'm Ok with your opinion. Just don't baby talk here, please. Just apply the logic in the way you are in my boots, Ok. Leaking asses don't help you with these guys. Never. They can lock their software in any moment remotely, and extort more money they want, later, when you invested huge pile of time and efforts into your system. Use your common sense for that. Prey that they gonna be always nice. If something strikes and they need money they can do everything they want. Somebody mentioned that it is difficult to reach them in Russia. They use offshore front in Delaware they are operating thru. I don't need to go to Russia as somebody suggested.
No problem. I will leave this situation alone. I was just trying to be empathetic and help. I can tell you are an intelligent person just from the content of your posts. Good luck in your pursuits.
Advertise the license on Elite Trader's Classifieds section after the price goes up, simple solution to your headache... Multicharts is not going to be able to police that situation..... or challenge the CEO of Multicharts to a public duel somewhere in the world where dueling is allowed... all I ask is the video rights to the duel. I remember one guy that came on here complaining about Interactive Brokers. He just would not stop, so they cancelled his account and sent him a check for the balance. Then he was back here complaining about that... I lauded their action against him as did many here on ET. We don't want them wasting time on every arm waving psycho control freak idiot that can't read instructions.... it costs the rest of us money because they incur costs which are passed along.... My offer to sell [also non transferrable] Tradestation software still stands of course, if you think you have a headache now, wait until you try TS2000........ Personally, I believe that Multicharts could get busy and get you your money back but I really don't care about it, it's your problem... ET is not going to offer to take up a collection or boycott Multicharts on your behalf. I recommend the absolutely free Ninjatrader 6.5 personally, the free version will do nearly everything the paid for one will excepting trade placement which you can do manually with TWS [if you read the instructions] and is programmable in C# which is really easy if you read their instructions...... Meanwhile, I'll be playing "my heart bleeds for you" on the world's smallest violin here...................
