I have a strange question: When i install multicharts my firewall gives the following warning: " tsserver is trying to communicate with c:\Program Files\AIM\aim.exe by opening its process" Why needs the tsserver.exe access to my aim.exe which is the aol instant messenger ?
I am testing multicharts Beta 3 version and i complained about loading speed of charts in the past - I must say that is resolved -- it loads charts very fast now. Now i need the tracking window to trace positions and orders and then i can finally switch from ts2000i to Multicharts Good work !
TS2ki!! You are tenacious! I think that MC dropped the tracking window idea a year ago, they said you have that functionality in TWS already, which, as far as I can see, you do...
I tell you I love TS2000i and its global server - i am using TradeStation since 1993 - I even bought system writer plus from omega research from Bill Cruz directly in person at his Omega headquarters in Florida. Then Omega became a broker and i had to use their own data which was unacceptable to me. I am not using Interactive brokers as a broker so what do i do then ? I had once automated all strategies like you guys do with IB , but i found out that slippage is not always the best when you are fast. Good executers still can beat machines slippage wise. I need: 1.Ability to load my own historical data and let that update by esignal 2. A tracking window that shows me filled , open orders etc. 3. Fast loading of charts and stability. 4. A tool that re-loads data from esignal because in fast markets ticks get lost on the way and i have "dissappearing trades" on the chart. (Like dynaloader) Any suggestions ?
I'm doing a trial of MC and have a couple questions: 1. I use Esignal data and adding a new stock to MC takes about 30 seconds and a painful multi-step process. Is there any quick way to add symbols? 2. How do you manage many stocks without a watchlist/quotepage? I never thought a charting program could possibly not have watchlists but both MC and Metastock do not!?!? 3. I have a new 6750 with 2 gig ram and MC still seems to run slow while tabbing through options, loading studies, etc. Do I need a faster pc? Thanks
1. Not to my knowledge. 2. MC is in the process of finishing the "WatchList/QuotePage/RadarScreen but it will take some time. If everyone emails MultiCharts asking for it, it will get done quicker. 3. don;t load a lot of history in your chart and the data will load quicker. If you need a loat of data, go to a dedicated Quad Core overclocked or better with 4+gig of Ram.
With MC 3.0 you can just type the symbol name for stocks, no setup, just type the symbol on an active chart. I just did it for AAPL (using eSignal as a feed) and the load time is similar to most other products like TS and Ninja. Regards
Hope it's ok with mods to post a link.... http://www.tssupport.com/support/downloads/ Grab the beta version.
