Multicharts User Thread

  1. good luck with TradeStation. They may have a huge team and resources, but try getting through to someone when you really need them - any cursory search of the TS forums will reveal that my prior experience of being on hold for 3 hrs+ while their system is down and your losing money on open positions is not an isolated one.

While MultiCharts is not a broker ala TS, whenever I've actually needed genuine support for a problem they pick up the phone quickly and have always been able to promptly and courteously resolve my issues.

Service support from MC in that respect has been first rate IMO.

Features and responding to feature requests is a different aspect altogether.

  2. what would be a great idea for MultiCharts to implement, would be a seperate features forum on the TSS site in which users can suggest new features or fixes, and other users can vote on whether it would be useful or not.

I know TradeStation do this, and it would probably be helpful for you to track suggestions and their popularity for prioritizing implementation.

  3. Thank you for the information on tradestation and your comments on MC's customer service. I am very satisfied with IB and am primarily interested in tradestation for charting purposes, this is also why I was considering MC. I have read the reviews on TS and IB and agree both have their limitations, as do most online brokers. I personally hedge for service interruptions by utilizing my banks brokerage for backup. I have linked accounts which allow me to instantly transfer assets and take reverse positions when unable to execute on IB.

Your suggestion for a users forum is an excellent idea, and would be an impressive move on MC's part if they were to adopt this.

And with all due respect to MC, their last response to Maxpi's post was rather positive. Perhaps it is purely a matter of approach. I am interested to see the improved features of MC 2.2

Blue skies and continued success to all...

Andrew please include the ability to filter/scan CONSTANT VOLUME BARS (in addition to tick, sec, min etc) in real time in your RadarscreenMC version and you will pick up at least 1 new customer.

    Good luck.

I tried multicharts a few years ago - had the datafeed issues, support stuff.

Was curious since I've heard it has gotten much better in newest release if that's the experience of current users? Is it staying up, good data, etc...always has seemed like a good alternative but was wondering about the reliability.

    THanks.

I just downloaded the free trial yesterday, can the charts be moved from the main window to the desktop like in realtick?

    Thanks
