Yeah I just found it a bit ironic since you are often criticizing people who provide another capitalist service with a nefarious reputation (i.e. traders/speculators), and mainstream society views "slumlording" with similar distaste. You might like a book called "defending the indefensible" by Walter Block, it lists numerous "bad" professions and then gives reasons (mostly economic) why they are actually good for society e.g. pimping, speculation, slum lords, curmudgeons (those people who don't move out of the last house standing in the way of a development). Quite funny and good for winding people up at dinner parties and internet message boards "" is like a cheeky poking tongue out in disapproval symbol...rotate it 90 degrees to "see".
