Apparently Mueller is asking Trump for any emails relating to Manafort, if Trump wanted to pull the biggest troll move of all time, he should tell Mueller he deleted them because they were personal, that would certainly take the chess match to a new level.
WSJ Calls FBI ‘Threat To Democracy’ For Meddling In 2016 Election zeropointnowWed Sep 20, 2017 1:19pm EST4 Comments Via The Wall Street Journal’s Editorial Board, Congress needs to learn how the FBI meddled in the 2016 campaign. When Donald Trump claimed in March that he’d had his “wires tapped” prior to the election, the press and Obama officials dismissed the accusation as a fantasy. We were among the skeptics, but with former director James Comey’s politicized FBI the story is getting more complicated. CNN reported Monday that the FBI obtained a warrant last year to eavesdrop on Paul Manafort, Mr. Trump’s campaign manager from May to August in 2016. The story claims the FBI first wiretapped Mr. Manafort in 2014 while investigating his work as a lobbyist for Ukraine’s ruling party. That warrant lapsed, but the FBI convinced the court that administers the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to issue a second order as part of its probe into Russian meddling in the election. Guess who has lived in a condo in Trump Tower since 2006? Paul Manafort. The story suggests the monitoring started in the summer or fall, and extended into early this year. While Mr. Manafort resigned from the campaign in August, he continued to speak with Candidate Trump. It is thus highly likely that the FBI was listening to the political and election-related conversations of a leading contender for the White House. That’s extraordinary – and worrisome. Mr. Comey told Congress in late March that he “had no information that supports those [Trump] tweets.” Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper was even more specific that “there was no such wiretap activity mounted against—the President-elect at the time, or as a candidate, or against his campaign.” He denied that any such FISA order existed. Were they lying? The warrant’s timing may also shed light on the FBI’s relationship to the infamous “ Steele dossier.” That widely discredited dossier claiming ties between Russians and the Trump campaign was commissioned by left-leaning research firm Fusion GPS and developed by former British spy Christopher Steele—who relied on Russian sources. But the Washington Post and others have reported thatMr. Steele was familiar to the FBI, had reached out to the agency about his work, and had even arranged a deal in 2016 to get paid by the FBI to continue his research. The FISA court sets a high bar for warrants on U.S. citizens, and presumably even higher for wiretapping a presidential campaign. Did Mr. Comey’s FBI marshal the Steele dossier to persuade the court? All of this is reason for House and Senate investigators to keep exploring how Mr. Comey’s FBI was investigating both presidential campaigns. Russian meddling is a threat to democracy but so was the FBI if it relied on Russian disinformation to eavesdrop on a presidential campaign. The Justice Department and FBI have stonewalled Congressional requests for documents and interviews, citing the “integrity” of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. But Mr. Mueller is not investigating the FBI, and in any event his ties to the bureau and Mr. Comey make him too conflicted for such a job. Congress is charged with providing oversight of law enforcement and the FISA courts, and it has an obligation to investigate their role in 2016. The intelligence committees have subpoena authority and the ability to hold those who don’t cooperate in contempt. Mr. Comey investigated both leading presidential campaigns in an election year, playing the role of supposedly impartial legal authority. But his maneuvering to get Mr. Mueller appointed, and his leaks to the press, have shown that Mr. Comey is as political and self-serving as anyone in Washington. No investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 campaign will be credible or complete without the facts about all Mr. Comey’s wiretaps. http://ibankcoin.com/zeropointnow/2...ddling-in-2016-election/#sthash.La4SBL7P.dpbs
It's possible that Comey and Clapper lied to congress, again. Clapper is a repeat offender. I would be outraged if I were a congressman, but then, I'm not a cuck owned by the Deep State and GS. And why in the world is the Trump DOJ stonewalling doc requests that would shed light on Comey's misdeeds? It's like Obama is still president and Loretta Lynch AG.
It's clear that Trump will be a one term president. The establishment wants it that way. The sooner he accepts that(perhaps he already has) he should take a f'n sledge hammer to every single aspect of this criminally corrupt government. Expose them all relentlessly. Every single day he should be holding a press conference asking, where's the tax bill? Where's the infrastructure bill? Where's heathcare? Where's an immigration policy. Where's anything and everything? Point out day and night that these are not on his desk unless congress does their jobs. Congress is the problem should be his mantra all day, every day. Hopefully he completely destroys the republican party. They deserve it. Democrats don't need any help as they're already destroying themselves. Out of the ashes, maybe, hopefully some new representation will rise, or maybe the whole nation will just crash and burn. A growing part of me says we deserve it.
Trump's problem may be that he yearns for approval and acceptance by Wall Street, big foot CEO's and the NYT. Add in the Ivanka influence, ("But Daddy, I'll be embarrassed at the synagogue if you do that.") and you have a mess.
Sure, we all mess up and delete 35,000 emails the week after you have received a house committee order to preserve them. Not to worry though- they were all related to her daughters wedding and her mothers funeral- and just coincidently there were no work emails preserved elsewhere during that period. Coincidence? Let the viewers decide. One of the most dumber-than-dogshit statements you will ever hear- and that is to say that the demmerroids repeat it here- is that "none of hillary's emails contained classified info." She deleted 35000 critical emails for cristsake - how the hell do they know what was in them? Deleting 35000 emails after receiving a house committee order to preserve them is also known as "obstruction of justice" unless you have buddies out on the tarmac. If I did that, my sorry arse would be in prison right now.
All trashing of Comey is highly appropriate and necessary. It will be very difficult to prosecute him but nevertheless history should continue to show him as a political hack scumbag and someone who trashed the FBI. That pious little holier-than-thou routine that he did for a long time needs to be totally trashed and exposed. He and mueller are colluding to show him as a poor victim who had to take a bold stand against Trump. That is horseshit. Comey was okay with Trump until Trump fired him, then he starts pulling notes out of his arse and talking about how he is a disciplined notetaker after every meeting. Then when congress requested his notes from his meeting with Loretta, he said he didnt have any. Trash him. Hard and often. Do not let that fucker write his own version of history. Hillary is hard at work trashing him too. Good. Also, let's not forget the obvious which is that mueller is planning on using him as a witness with the approach that says "who you gonna believe trump or comey." Put his reputation in the toilet where it belongs. Trump has his stuff deal with but I would give comey plenty to deal with too. Too bad sessions has retired but is still on the job. I have not read the WSJ article above but I will do so later but I like the lead-in title. I may self-stimulate when I read it. Hope that's okay.
If there is evidence that Comey gutted the Hillary investigation for political reasons, he certainly can be prosecuted. All that have to do is line him up for prosecution and he will start spilling the beans on the Obama spying/leaking operation.
He flat out lied to congress too when asked when he decided that hillary was not going to be prosecuted. That's perjury. Lots of pundits rattle off reasons why it cannot stick. Indict him anyway. Every case has something that that the defense can raise but that should not be a showstopper. Get him to plead on a felony of some sort and then take his law license as was done to Clinton. As you suggest, if he behaves well in other areas that are being investigated perhaps something can be worked out- but this horseshit about him being above reproach has to end and indeed it is a little bit. Just need to crank it up. He should be in a position where he is lawyering up bigtime instead of just running around with a grin on his face because he unleashed his buddy mueller on to trump.
What kind of wire tap? Oh my God. I'd be scared shitless were I Trump and my campaign managers conversations were being listened to by the FBI. Of course no problem if everything was on the up an up . Ha ha ha. I guess the only question remaining is will manafort rat out Trump in exchange for NY AG going easy on him.
