Breaking News: The Russia inquiry’s special counsel has sought a range of records that suggest President Trump’s actions in office are under scrutiny

Mueller Seeks White House Documents Related to Trump’s Actions as President
    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/20/us/politics/mueller-trump-russia.html

Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel, has asked the White House for documents about some of President Trump’s most scrutinized actions since taking office, including the firing of his national security adviser and F.B.I. director, according to White House officials.

Mr. Mueller is also interested in an Oval Office meeting Mr. Trump had with Russian officials in which he said the dismissal of the F.B.I. director had relieved “great pressure” on him.

The document requests provide the most details to date about the breadth of Mr. Mueller’s investigation, and show that several aspects of his inquiry are focused squarely on Mr. Trump’s behavior in the White House.

In recent weeks, Mr. Mueller’s office sent a document to the White House that detailed 13 different areas that investigators want more information about. Since then, administration lawyers have been scouring White House emails and asking officials whether they have other documents or notes that may pertain to Mr. Mueller’s requests.

One of the requests is about a meeting Mr. Trump had in May with Russian officials in the Oval Office the day after James B. Comey, the F.B.I. director, was fired. That day, Mr. Trump met with the Russian foreign minister, Sergey V. Lavrov, and the Russian ambassador to the United States, Sergey I. Kislyak, along with other Russian officials. The New York Times reported that in the meeting Mr. Trump had said that firing Mr. Comey relieved “great pressure” on him.

Mr. Mueller has also requested documents about the circumstances of the firing of Michael T. Flynn, who was Mr. Trump’s first national security adviser. Additionally, the special counsel has asked for documents about how the White House responded to questions from The Times about a June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower. That meeting was set up by Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son, to get derogatory information from Russians about Hillary Clinton.

Ty Cobb, the lawyer Mr. Trump hired to provide materials related to the Russia investigation to the special counsel and Congress, has told Mr. Mueller’s office that he will turn over many of the documents this week.

“We can’t comment on any specific requests being made or our conversations with the special counsel,’’ he said.

Felt that way before Bannon.Didn't need Bannon to tell me that Mueller was better than Comey at everything and Trump not being Muellers boss is better for the investigation as well.

One can not really blame the CIA, nor FBI : they are protecting their agents overseas, including in Russia. Imagine if, thanks to Trump, the Russian KGB had access to the names of all the spies, loyal to the USA, operating in Russia. :D
Trump is a god sent to really study the US government shadows, and a little bit of the "Deep state".

  6. No . . . this meeting was about adopting Russian babies.

  7. Could Trump son got access to KGB info?????
hey ???? Could the KGB itself have tipped Trump's own son?????

  8. It is not against the law to receive embarrassing info about a candidate for president, even if the media and Deep State have decided she must win. The dilemma is Mueller needs to prove Trump gave or promised the Russians a quid pro quo, and the only evidence of that is in WH docs. Allowing Mueller to examine them however would break longstanding precedents about Executive privilege.

We now have a pretty good idea what actually happened. Obama's hack running the CIA, John Brennan, a fanatical Trump hater, and Comey got the cousins at MI6 to phony up the so-called piss dossier, which was then used to get the FISA warrant to surveil Trump Tower. Susan Rice, Samantha Power and others then unmasked the subjects and set the stage for the info to be available to Deep State operatives to leak to the media to support the Russia narrative.

Comey did his part by gutting the Clinton investigation, probably on orders from AG Lynch. He couldn't resist the spotlight however and tried to have it both ways with his press conference exonerating Clinton. He was stung by the personal criticism he received from dems and paid then back with his 11th hour Anthony Weiner bombshell.

Trump should have either made his peace with Comey or had things lined up better when he canned him, as in actually having a trustworthy Attorney General to back him. Instead, he lost his temper and went off half-cocked, leaving an opening for this asshat deputy AG Rosentein to appoint Mueller. In essence, we are starting a rookie QB and he got strip sacked on his first pass attempt.

  9. It would have been easy to get rid of Comey. Have the Justice Department initiate an investigation of the Clinton investigation. Enough questionable decisions were made that a credible case of political interference could have been sustained. Prosecute Comey and a couple of his pals and they would have rolled over on Lynch and Obama. No one is defending a dirty cop.
