Yup, and I remember what your bet is White Boy. If I were to say that Comey and Avenetti are going to have one thing in common in the near future, I would be correct, would I not?
Unless I misunderstood the article, even Huber + Horowitz still don't have the powers afforded to what a special counsel can do. That is what I got from the article. Either way it's 'winning' one way or the other. I think Sessions is doing all this so it does not look like he is Trump's policeman. He has positioned everyone else to do the dirty work so that Dems can't accuse him of being a Trump puppet. Just my opinion.
Of course and why not. If Horowitz/Huber wanted to find violations of departmental policy that rises to the level of criminal conduct and to get some scalps the same way Mueller is then look no further than their conduct during the sham investigation. To find scalps there would be like Michael Moore stepping up a free, all-you-can-eat buffet. He has suddenly arrived at Hog Heaven.
It is an interesting question. I have thought about it a bit too. In theory, the special counsel is more independent and can just go and bust down someone's door if that is how he is feeling the case should be handled and can go anywhere and look at anything because he has a full witch-hunting license, whereas Huber and Horowitz have to stay within their lanes. That's in theory. In practice though, the special counsel we have now- Mueller- is only interested in using his powers against Camp Trump. So while Horowitz and Huber theoretically have less power than an independent counsel, they are in fact using whatever powers they have to in fact look at FBI misconduct. As you said, it is winning even if not ideal. And it is possible that if the IG report is too ugly, then Huber will just be converted into a special counsel. And Rosenswamp who is one of the main criminals- would not necessarily be the one to write the special counsel appointment documents if there are charges related to clinton investigation misconduct. Sessions is not recused on that. He is mostly worthless but also looking for a chance to save his job so he might do it if he does not fall asleep while working on it.
Well, Horowitz/Huber have the potential to relegate Mueller into the bleacher seats if these rumblings about a DOJ/FBI criminal referral come to pass. It blows him up - in several ways. The IG’s report will be made public by Memorial Day.
Agree on everything, but Sessions. I think he is playing the wolf in sheep's clothing. If he would not have recused himself from the Russia investigation, the Dems would have used his very obvious decisions and prosecutions in the case as doing 'what Trump told him to do'. There was no way around that it if he was convinced that the FBI Russiagate conspiracy was going to fold either way. Again, just my opinion.
I don't disagree with that and previously made the same point but from a different angle, to wit: As much as it drives me nuts to patient, Sessions should not get in the way of anything independent that is headed his way, because the lefties are waiting to hang him on it politically, when if he waited a little longer he could assert that certain actions arise out of independent findings. Thus, I supported the idea to resist the calls to fire McCabe because the IG was headed that way anyway. And, as impatient as I am, I have said that the time to appoint a special counsel, if at all, is AFTER the IG's report comes out, thus once again denying the lefties the chance to argue that Jeff is just doing Trump's bidding. It bugs the shit out of the lefties that Horowitz is an Obama appointee and is independent. As I said, I would not mess with something already heading in your direction. Having said all that, Jeff needs to pick up a little No-Doz down at the corner store.
Yessiree!!! Although I think Avanetti has an alternate career on CNN or MSNBC. He is fun to watch and easy on the eye. The fact that he can only spew drivel doesn't mean he wouldn't be a great "host." Comey, on the other hand, is really tough to watch. You can just see how he's being careful/figuring out the lie before words come out. Nothing inspiring about him. I can't honestly think of a career he'd be good at other than internet troll.
IG Horowitz is a warrior, and Rep. Chaffetz put legislation on the books that put real balls back into the OIG office and gave him the same access to DOJ/FBI data and ops as the Director. This is red meat, and Tyler Darden is a partisan - but his posting today is toô detailed to be pure coincidental speculation IMO. He’s had a few really big scoops in the recent past, he’s plugged in, and Matt Drudge thinks enough of him to earn a permanent link on Drudge. A deep, entertaining read. If a fraction of this comes to pass, the spinning earth will tilt a few degrees further on its axis: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018...broke-law-clinton-email-probe-refers-criminal
