Interesting. Yes, I was aware some Jews talk down about us gentiles. Racism abounds. Seems every ethnic, racial, religious sect or political divide lends to hate. In the small town I grew up in, there were several Jewish families that ran businesess downtown. One of my best childhood friends came from a Jewish family, but we never thought about it, we didn't care and they didn't care, even though they went to Synagogue or wherever. It was never an issue. We just all got along. Somehow, political correctness took hold over the US and everyone walks around with a G@#4D34! chip on their shoulder today. It is a shame.
I agree. I think that PC mentality that continually injects race and religion into every issue is what drives us apart. It keeps us thinking among racial/religious lines instead of humanitarian lines. We're all just people. All insecure, hopeful, angry, confused, love our families, aspire for more etc etc. I have a step sister who recently converted to Judaism, married a nice Jewish guy, and had a baby. She's part of the family like she always was. We talk about it sometimes, but more in the sense of their own customs and foods. Interesting things orthodox Jews do to honor the Sabbath. But that's it. I don't think much about it, to be honest. That said, some very noticeable differences exist between some racial/ethnic groups. Both good and bad. Just the way it is.
