I’ve used both platforms. Since transitioning to cTrader, I have found multiple benefits. Main one being the ability to have WAY BETTER flexibility for coding like adding other references that are built in c# and building specific programs with the FIX API has made cTrader far more superior.
Why i chose ctrader (im ex mt4/mt5 user) - Platforms execution speed (not Slippage, it depends on the broker) - Platforms are faster and smoother (web, desktop and mobile versions) - Better design and user experience (web, desktop and mobile versions) - cTrader copy (Allows you to invest in strategies or be a strategy provider inside the platform) - Community dedicated to helping - The evolution of cTrader is huge, and it doesn't stop. Updates are constant. - cTrader has a commission, but the spread is lower than metatrader, if you confirm as i already made, in the end at cTrader it’s still cheaper to trade than metatrader (even for sclapers). - cTrader uses C# for developing indicators and cBots (EA), C# is simpler and easier to learn than MQL5 (specialized C++) Hope this helps
For me, the clear winner here is cTrader (using it since 2012 now). Not only the obvious as MT5 needs a VPS to run, where cTrader doesn't, also the look and feel of cTrader is vastly better than MT5. + The platform offers things like copytrading built in without the need of external signals etc.
Many companies and services are moving to more modern platforms for doing business. For example, they use embedded software https://sirinsoftware.com/services/embedded-software-development-services/ Today cTrader is more functional.
Well, both platforms have got enough of advantages. On the other hand speaking of communities, we can also mention that a larger (significantly larger!) # of brokers vote for MT. At first glance it seems to be a strong advantage of the latter, doesn't it? But what if we try to dig deeper?
Of course that's an advantage of MT, what re u talking about? The more brokers support the platform, the more choice a trader that favors the platform has when it comes to picking the broker.
I knew someoone would say that and that's true to a large extent. Nevertheless, as traders don't we know that the quantity doesn't always stand ahead of quality? Do you remember how you've picked your first broker? Especially if that was a forex/CFD broker? Wasn't it hard? So many cheaters, so many scams were around! I guess one of the advantages of ctrader is that it keeps all the executions 100% transparent for trader. That's why scam brokers don't sign up for offering ctrader to their clients as they won't be able to cheat on them this way. Or even if they cheat, the truth will be immediately reflected in the histry of trades. Price injections, forced position closures, etc.. That can't be swept under a rag if you work with a ctrader broker.
Good to know. Well, that's a pity in this case that so few brokers opt to support Ctrader. On the other hand, there are some reputable ones among those that are already available.
