Could be, as MQL5 and C++ aren't 100% identical. Nevertheless, even cTrader's pure C# might not help if the developer has no clue about the markets. Both platforms have their means to develop algos (EAs at MT5 and cBots at cTrader) but the programmer must know how quotes work and how markets work to be able to cooperate with a trader.
Unless you are programming some kind of algo - the platform makes no difference. You are either profitable, or you are not. Execution is what matters.
I won't argue. Though, I've heard some rumors that developers that deal with trading strategies don't fancy MT5 too much. Well, at least I've heard this from several guys that have some experience in the field.
"Don't fancy" is a very tolerant term to describe the situation LOL I can imagine that coding the trading algos drives people crazy regardless of the language and platform they choose. However, the recent observations indicate that cTrader beats MT on this field so far.
Ctrader's been on the market since 2010, MT since 2004 if I'm not mistaken. If you as my opinion that's not an sufficient enough argument to make a final choice.
It's not the matter of a year of fundation but rather a matter of community that's been build around the platform. NO doubt MT has some advantge when it comes to the number of users.
cTrader gets my vote every time, it is modern, clean and a luxury to trade, looks like they are investing alt of time and money making this platform better and better. I talk to many traders who have moved across from other trading platforms like MT4 to cTrader and they asked why they did not start using it sooner. Another important factor is algorithmic trading which is very popular now, with cTrader you can use the Microsoft .NET framework to practically do anything, it is a modern programming language with tons of free tutorials and online help, MT4's homemade programming language is nothing in comparison, this is why I feel cTrader will for sure overtake many other trading platforms that are currently around.
Hello everyone, I have been programming for 20 years and most of these I have spent programming on Metatrader, when I approached the cTrader nothing was like before, I fell in love immediately! I won't bore you with obvious things, I ask you to try it at least once in your life and then make your evaluations, you will love it!
