But they could be making 20-50 times more if they charged 50% of profits. You know like real HFs do, who don't run a ponzi.
You're welcome, Pekelo, I would suggest you watch the youtube video on the OP This is not a risk-free ETF, and YieldMax is selling covered calls that is very lucrative compared to Madoff's fake returns, because of very high options premiums on the selected underlying stocks YieldMax is using other people's money, they have no risks, and getting paid As explained in the video, selling covered calls strategy carries directional risk, you would want mstr to go up or stay flat but volatile an oxy moron, but say up 50 points in 2 weeks and down 50 points the next 2 weeks During a bear market if mstr loses 90% like the last one, msty will lose 85% according to the video and the dividends as well Here's nvdy (nvda underlying stock) YieldMax and just track the nvdy price over the timeframe https://stockanalysis.com/etf/nvdy/dividend/
Well then who would invest in it? I have never been into dividends because what do you get 7%??? That's a waste of capital imo. I could get 80% just selling premium instead if I don't mind carrying some risk. Yieldmax realized this and is putting out a product that caters to generating income. Example. I can sell 5 atm MARA 30 dte puts for 1.45 =$725 Risk: 8k (assignment) Premium: $725x12=8700 (if I do this every month) Annual yield: 108% Actually I might take this trade but yieldmax is making me lazy...maybe I'll wait for a retrace and sell into it.
Everybody. Madoff was king of the hill with 10-11% annual returns. What I am saying YieldMax could pay out "only" 50% in dividends instead of 100% as they do now and still be among the top 10 HF. Anyhow I looked up TSLY. A year ago buying in was 15 bucks. They dropped to 9, but they returned 10.8 in the past 12 months, so overall they are still ahead 4.8 return on 15 invested.
The problem with Madoff was that he did not do any trades and there were no tsla, nvda, mstr, coin, pltr high premium options back then YieldMax positions and trades are published, you can do them yourself and not pay them the 1% management fees Good luck getting their prices from the market makers, though, watch the video for more info
That would defeat the purpose of yield MAX. Their goal is to provide maximum yield. Remember they aren't under any pressure to be a growth fund...they don't have to concern themselves with CAGR...they only have to return dividends. I don't care if my initial 100k investment dwindles down to $1 if I collect 124.71% yield on it indefinitely. I don't only hold MSTY...I have it spread out over many yieldmax instruments, including weeklies and some other high yield etfs like Defiance.
Is there a similar ETF for selling vol as a dividend for IBIT or ETHA? Most likely MSTR is more volatile than IBIT.
Yes, but ibit is bitcoin so it's more an option income strategy etf that generates income from bitcoin volatility Yes, there are option income strategy ETFs that utilize Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Products (ETPs), and it is likely that the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) is among the underlying assets used by some of these funds, given its significant size and liquidity in the spot Bitcoin ETF market. These types of ETFs aim to generate income by employing option strategies, such as selling covered calls, on the underlying Bitcoin ETPs. Here are a few examples of such ETFs: YieldMax™ Bitcoin Option Income Strategy ETF (YBIT): This ETF seeks to generate current income through a synthetic covered call strategy on one or more select U.S.-listed Bitcoin ETPs. Their strategy prioritizes Bitcoin ETPs that hold physical Bitcoin and have sufficient option liquidity. Amplify Bitcoin 2% Monthly Option Income ETF (BITY) and Amplify Bitcoin Max Income Covered Call ETF (BAGY): These funds also provide exposure to Bitcoin's price movements while implementing covered call strategies using weekly options on a Bitcoin ETP. Grayscale Bitcoin Covered Call ETF (BTCC): This ETF aims to provide income through covered call writing on Bitcoin ETPs. Calamos Bitcoin Structured Alt Protection ETF – April (CBOA): This fund invests in options that reference the price performance of underlying ETPs that provide exposure to Bitcoin. First Trust ETFs (BFAP, DFII): Some of First Trust's Bitcoin strategy ETFs also incorporate investing in option contracts that use Bitcoin Exposure Instruments, such as Bitcoin ETPs, as reference assets. While these ETFs utilize Bitcoin ETPs for their option strategies, their specific holdings and the extent to which they use IBIT may vary. Investors interested in these products should review the individual fund prospectuses for detailed information on their investment strategies and underlying assets. -------------------------------------- YieldMax products,: YieldMax offers a variety of Option Income Strategy ETFs, each focused on generating income through selling options on a specific underlying stock or a basket of stocks.
