Interesting, I thought I read somewhere bitcoin spot etf's have redemptions with a minimum amount Still, mstr is able to sell the bitcoins or use as collateral for a loan (i.e. Silvergate) but spot etf issuers like Blackrock cannot...
None of these ETFs allow redemption, only selling shares, and then the fund sells coins if they need to rebalance. I had seen people asking on Twitter if it would be possible one day for redemptions of Bitcoin but the answer was that this would require an amendment to how the ETF operates. But it's of course easy to sell shares, although that makes for a taxable event.
When bitcoin drops below 40k mstr will be back under When 2 stocks, just 2 stocks are holding up the entire Russell 2000 something has to be said...just like nvda has added most of the gains in the nasdaq year to date. For only a few select companies to be doing shows just how pathetic the overall market is as a whole. That there isn't much participation out of the thousands of more companies listed on the exchanges.... Mstr and smci aren't the 2 greatest companies either. Smci is rising on nvda and AI hype and the other is now relying on bitcoin to carry there stock higher... When bitcoin falls back to 40k I would not want be anywhere near mstr. Today was just an example of how volatile the stock has become based off the price of bitcoin. Sure it's going to rise with bitcoin but the bubble mania is a bit over done and any drop in bitcoin will just be absolute trouble for mstr
If bitcoin goes to 40k, that will be very bad! For mstr and for all the crypto bros! Do you think bitcoin will go to 40k? What time frame? Yes, bitcoin going up is very good for mstr as the company owns a lot of bitcoins over 200,000 bitcoins Let's hope bitcoin goes up in price not down! mstr just issued debt to buy more bitcoins and that deal just closed yesterday, so we're hoping mstr bitcoin purchase today or over the next few days will be enough to push bitcoin back up! Let us all pray together for bitcoin to go back up again! for mstr and for all the crypto assets!
Oh shit, mstr already bought the bitcoins, did not push the price back up, too much selling from gbtc yesterday and maybe continuing today
This was tough to trade with volatility so jacked. Scratched 3 times trying to catch the turn but finally got up to size yesterday: Long 500 shares @ $1500 and just spread off the rest of my risk at ~$1300. This was a fun one guys!
This selling does absolutely suck but statistically it is exactly in line with the previous bull markets.
Larry is the hero we needed but did not deserve... who woulda thunk it? All other bitcoin etf's were flat yesterday, it's almost as if they knew about the gbtc dump and stepped out of the way I bet Blackrock steps up to the plate again today. Ibit has not been slowing down
