Absolutely, and that is the beauty of science.

We can be wrong if new evidence emerges and proves that the old hypothesis is no longer correct, we are willing to face the truth and admit we are wrong.

There is no shame to be wrong sometimes. That is how we move forward.

If ivermectin works against lung cancer, Merck will make billions from it.

How? Just like they are making billions out of their PD-L1 inhibitor by tweaking the compound to make it more effective and less side effects.

The hypothesis is ivermectin inhibits the PAK1 cancer pathway and if so they can tweak it to make it more effective and since it is already FDA approved for safety, it will cost them a lot less to develop...

There are many other examples, one is taxol, one of the most effective chemo drugs, derived from the bark of the pacific yew tree.

When someone handed you a lemon, you make lemonade.

I have traded many biotech startups.

It is tradable because the failure rate is so high, the option prices reflected that.

If one has some knowledge on the underlying science and can determine that Wall Streets' general view is off for that particular company, one can make a good living.

I bet on CRSP too but then switched over to VRTX, much better outcome.

If Ivermectin was the least bit effective in either preventing or treating Covid then Merck would slightly update the formulation, re-issue a patent, and then charge 500 times what it currently sells Ivermectin for while giving the drug a new slightly different name.

However -- knowing that Ivermectin is not the least bit effective in preventing and/or treating Covid, Merck took no action to re-patent the drug and make boatloads of money. This is concrete evidence of Ivermectin being completely ineffective against Covid.

Good luck with your assertions. Many respected mainstream studies have demonstrated Ivermectin does not prevent or treat Covid.

Sadly, Covid anti-vax disinformation grifters convinced a number of people to take Ivermectin as a treatment rather than proper vaccines and medicine. A unusually high portion of these people passed away from Covid-- while the Covid grifters like "America's Frontline Doctors" made lots of money off of these victims.

It is important to keep an open mind and let science speaks for itself.

I have my own opinion on ivermectin. So far, scientific tevidences for COVID is very weak but it's potential for cancer is strong and has science based evidences.

Cedar Sinai in LA, one of the top hospitals in the US, is starting a phase 1 clinical combining perbrolizumab with ivermectin to treat triple negative breast cancer, the hardest breast cancer to treat.

Research coming out of China indicated it has efficacy killing lung cancer cells. My researcher recently confirmed the results:

    https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37741955/

I may support a phase 1 clinical trial for non small cell lung cancer (the type my wife has) in the near future.

@volpri, those of us on the other side could change if the evidence is there. I hope you too can be objective.

    Take care.
