  2. When it comes to trading futures, astronomically high returns are only possible with astronically high exposure--risk. Actually, a 50% drawdown is less than I would have expected, considering his performance in the contest.

There are some CTAs who have had twelve-month returns over 1000% AFTER surviving 90%+ drawdowns. Like all of us, Williams has had hot streaks and cold streaks, which are magnified by exposure.

If you want to survive trading futures, keep one's exposure--risk--to a comfortable level.

Do you feel the same way about Bob Bright thunder ?

He walks the walk but still is a salesman.

  5. FWIW,

I've had dinner with LW. I've attended his seminar.

I think he is 100% genuine and also a genuinely nice guy.

I just read about your experience so now I am expert on whether LW is legit or not.

  7. thunderdog,

while i do agree with you on several issues, you are misled regarding LW. he posts his phone number on his site, why don't you call him and ask him what happened with gallacher instead of posting all this hearsay.

of everyone on the promotor circuit, i must say that LW truly walks the talk and is one heck of a trader.

i am still waiting for the supposed NFA sanctions information.....

  8. Why would I? Is there a similar cloud over Mr. Bright's head? Further, does he write empty books and promote expensive seminars?

  9. Here you go:

    http://www.nfa.futures.org/basicnet/Case.aspx?entityid=0002738&case=88BCC00035&contrib=NFA

He also has two CFTC reparations claims.

These are not hard to find.

I occasionally find mailings from Mr. Williams in my
mailbox promising me unlimited riches in only minutes
per day, if only I send him money. All the scammer
buzzwords are there. If he is not a fraud, why does
he send out such mailings? I put him in the same
league as Ken Roberts, Jake Bernstein, Wade Cook...

Also, affiliations with firms such as Robbins and Refco
are not recomendations in my book!

  10. i see nothing in the complaint about his trading or the robbins cup contest. it's simply appears to be over zealous marketing that was the issue and the fine was reduced considerably upon appeal.
