Mr. President, the time has come

  1. I commend the president for a willingness to work things out. We'll see how comrades Pelosi and Reid follow suit. There is some pressure on Repubs to make a real effort here, and not just try to kill it all. That would snatch defeat from their current victory, which wouldn't surprise me. Afterall, they are government workers. If anyone can screw things up, it's a g-man.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama advised fellow Democrats against trying to jam a health care bill through Congress after taking a devastating hit from the loss of a Senate seat. He said Wednesday it's time to come together around a bill that can draw Republican support, too.

When Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown takes office he will hand the GOP power to block the Democratic agenda, including Obama's top domestic priority of extending health coverage to the uninsured.

"The people of Massachusetts spoke. He's got to be part of that process," Obama said.

Now Democrats need to reach across the aisle on popular health care provisions such as cost controls and aid to small businesses, he said.

Obama is little different from Chaves of Venezuela. Both of them would ride their productive citizenry all the way into poverty waving their big hat and yelling Yippie!

  4. Brain dead Ed was blowing a gasket this evening. He would be amusing if he wasn't serious. The base, the base has been abandoned is his war cry. Let me clue ya' Ed. "The base" is a bunch of lunatics who are completely out of touch with reality. "The base" is nothing but a pimple on the ass of the overall electorate. "The base" is a small, but loud, vocal, in your face group of maniacs that appear to be bigger than they really are because they NEVER SHUT UP.
And here's another news flash for ya' ED. "The base" didn't elect Obama. It was white middle and working class America that pushed him over the top. They got themselves all caught up in the moment. Gonna' be part of history and all that jazz. Add to that a dose of white guilt, and viola, Obama is the prez. Now we flash forward and it's like the nation went out, got all drunked up last year, had a all nighter party and has now woken up to see who they're in bed with. OMFG! Time to sober up, and right quick. Yesterday was a sign that America is now "on the wagon" for the time being.
Ed, just one more thing...STFU! Go away! Stay Away.

  5. Your analogy to an all-night bender is extremely accurate, even more so for a certain troll who is in a tiZZy over recent events. :D

Remember when that cocky fuck said this???

President Obama listened to Republican gripes about his stimulus package during a meeting with congressional leaders Friday morning - but he also left no doubt about who's in charge of these negotiations. "I won," Obama noted matter-of-factly,

  9. Yeah, who does he think he is? The president?

  10. Well, it is becoming apparent he is out of step with the electorate.
