I had a good day today. I did not trade the US open and I had a much better outcome. Tomorrow I will go on the simulator during U.S. ours and get a feel for the 30yr bonds and see how that goes.

Trading the bund during the day just doesn't feel right for me. I do however enjoy trading it at night. Its two complete different animals. Its a nice feeling leaving work not having my ass handed to me.

    -------

    18 trades

    +6 ticks = $60.00 Euros

Today I had a real strong day. I made five ticks but they were extremely difficult to get today. The market was very choppy through the night. It was a real battle getting those 5 winners.

My boss who is a real nice guy with great trading experience has been riding my ass in regards to the low number of trades, even though I only took two losers out of my 12 trades. He feels that I should have 40-50 turns before the US markets open. He likes to have me engaged in that market as much a possible. Does anyone have an opinion or thought on that?

    ----------
    12 trades = 5 ticks = 50 Euros

    seven 1 tick winners

    two 1 tick looser

    3 scratches.

Why did you choose to trade the Bund?
    IMO, it's a casino intraday.

Also, as someone else mentioned before in this thread,
you are doing way too many RTs. Try 3-4 a day...
learn how to wait. I am watching it today since 8am CET,
and didn't take a single trade yet.

5 ticks in 12 trades, that's not a strong day.
You are statistically nowhere. You know, I hope, that
the bund can eat back your 5 ticks in a split second
    (in your next trade)

It sounds like your boss is trying to get you to rack up as much commission as possible, regardless of whether the trades you take are in your best interests, but I may be wrong. Trading well does not necessarily mean often.

  6. That what every new guy does at a futures prop firm in Chicago. They don't know what else to teach them, just get in there and trade 'em up. Two of ten will make enough to offset the losses of the other eight.

I chose the bund at night because it is extremely liquid and not very volatile. In regards to 5 ticks in 12 trades. I had 7 winning trades 2 losers and 3 scratches. I am still learning and I am only looking to pick up 1-2 ticks a trade I am a scalper not a position/swing trader. I only trade the bund at night now. If you give up 5 ticks in one trade to the Bund you are not practicing good risk management because it really doesn't start moving fast until the US markets open or you are trading the numbers. You might be thinking about the Bund during the day or the DAX ,not the Bund at night.

Today I had a pretty good day. This is my fifth day in a row with being up 4 or more ticks. I had 13 trades and only one, 1 tick looser. I am looking forward to trading two lots in the near future.

Are there any scalpers out their that can give me any advise with developing a strategy.
    ------------

    13 Trades

    +7 ticks = $70.00 Euros

Well, things have been going ok. I am still learning and see improvement every day. I have changed markets that seem to fit my personality a little better. I am now trading 2 lots in the Dow YM and I love the volatility it possesses. I am no longer a scalper and have changed my strategy to trade the trend. I am looking to pick up 10-20+ ticks per move unless I am scalping a tight range when volume is low. I will post my P&L on a daily basis. I am open to any suggestions that will better my trading.

Today was a tough day with volume being so low. I started off the day on a bad foot and had to play catch up the rest of the day. After my first 3 trades I was down $310 after being chopped up.

    11 trades
    -$95.00
