Here is a recent article I wrote describing some interesting new concepts I discovered in my work with TA. http://seekingalpha.com/article/546181-moving-trains-falling-knives-death-and-super-crosses Enjoy, Mycroft
The way you are using the terms "Never try to catch a falling knife or step in front of a moving train" are contrary to the trading world.
Not really, if price is falling, why would you buy? If price is rising, why would you sell? They have a saying in the Army. Do not try to be a hero. All the heroes are dead.
I believe the "step in front of a moving train" is the dual of "don't try to catch a falling knife", i.e., don't short a stock that is obviously in a powerful uptrend.
