Moving Forward: Your Opinion of ET

Discussion in 'Feedback' started by Baron, Aug 21, 2013.

How Should ET Move Foward from here?

  1. ET needs to implement lots of new features, like Facebook, LinkedIn and other social sites.

  2. ET should incrementally add new features based solely on user feedback.

  3. ET should get rid of features like Books/Brokers/Software Ratings and stick to forums only.

  4. ET has been great for the last 15 years just like it is and should be left alone.

Surf what about Monday-Friday during market hours when none of us are really around but you are polluting this place?

    Oh...that's right....we are all trading...while you are.........not.

  5. Because ridiculous claims, chest pounding, and bogus lies need to be addressed.

I do have several on ignore. But the snake oilers need to be pointed out and their agenda made known.

  8. This thread clearly illustrates why ET has little value. You can now talk w/ other traders in real-time via twitter and* none of the bullshit you see in this thread and ET. This thread could have been a constructive place to suggest improvements for Baron, but in typical ET fashion, it's now a bitch fest w/ zero value.

I used to check ET a few times per day to see what may be posted, but now it's much less frequent. Building a good twitter follow list is 100% much more productive.

After you factor in the bitterness around here and the age of this site, it's clear to see why the forum has gone down hill. If you are new to trading and compare this site w/ other forums and then twitter or stocktwits, there's little reason to come back here.

    * Yes, I had to know the html code in order to bold something. When the most basic forums have editors to do this quick and easy, ET is so far behind the times it's sad at this point. And I know the old timers here will say - leave it as is! - if you want to attract new blood, you need the most basic forum functions.

Haha, authoritarian tone? Maybe it reads like that. I can only say what I see. Based on facts presented.

Me? I just trade. Sell nothing, want nothing, beyond maybe a bit of occasional conversation with some like minded traders.
I find it mentally lonely, trading.

No I will not give my real name. I signed up to an anonymous forum!
Besides which, my real name has no bearing on my attitude being warranted or not.
If I'm saying something, thats because i feel its warranted.
Approval from you, Dave or your alter-ego's alter-ego, Rod, doesn't hit my radar.

Beyond your obvious website sellout, read your own posts for the low blows. I cba going through mountains of irrational posts to point them out you.

As for your conclusions about being on a forum at 10/11pm, well, what has that got to do with being a 'real trader'? Seriously? Do you have rocks in your head? So many possibilities for a Sunday evenings activity, and you pick the most ridiculous conclusion.
If I'm long dollar, maybe I gave the lobster a miss to see where it opens tonight? It could be that simple.

Engage brain first > open mouth second.
It usually works better that way.

Good observation, and I'm just adding to the silliness here. Time to quit. It'll never end, otherwise.
    Thanks. :)
