Let's combine your suggestion with a plus/minus infinity rating on a post's usefulness/relevance. Posts with a 0 or less rating (or some other hurdle) would not count towards the total posts by that user. Implementing this system, I imagine well over 95% of your posts would be below 0.... In fact, if there was a Top 100 list for the most downvoted posts, I imagine you'd own the list...
My main suggestion would bring back the ET chat room, but allow it for only members. That way you have to be a member to even view chats, and therefore you will increase your membership.

Your actions do not display true market experience and your words contain little logic, im sorry but no matter how many times you are shown to be below par you come back with the same stuff, you are a troll man and you are the most damaging person on this site. Little of value is being left on this site these days, as in timeless posts of debate and discussion, problem solving, a newbie looks through the first page of the trading section and sees nothing but shit, a load of locals arguing about ta. You say ta does not work offer no reason as to why, offer no viable solution, you just want to close down the talks, you are past the point of obsession. Some people trade using the stars, I don't care!!!!!!!!! I don't need to jump in to every mention of it and shut the debate down.If people don't have the sense to see what works and what does not screw them, yet ta is widely accepted and used. Its not based on the movement of the stars or some other crazy thing. You always say no professional uses it yet this is a retail trading site, so, so what? If site admin dont catch on to what you have been doing around here soon I see the last of the worth jumping ship, you would never ever ever be spoken down to or have your topic derailed as we witness here on some of the trading forums competing with this site. This place is degrading into nothing more than a chitchat and its the exact qualities you bring to the site that are making that so. No one here bar the owner has money tied up in the place its no particular loss to us when it goes under. However we are interest in a community and a community like a class room can Not function when the class clown is left facing no consequence.
I'd vote for a more decisive forums moderation. There is way too much spam, off-topic content, and personal attacks (just look at this very thread). I've just thought of a "collective moderation" idea. Any ET member can click the "delete post" button. If enough clicks from unique members are registered, the post is automatically deleted (no human moderator is needed).
That's an interesting opinion. I am indeed fortunate that those in actual positions of power disagree with you. I have landed multiple finance related gigs ( from the my early days at etrade media to hedge fund marketing/introductions) three directly tradingOPM, raised over 30 million USD for a variety of traders, funds and strategies, made many close friends, not to mention interacting with several of the top traders on earth and to top it off attracted the attention of my lovely wife-- ALL based on my participation on this site. If you ever wonder why i am so adament about things here, its because this site has improved my life tremendously both financially and personally thus I hate to see the zero value add, phony, alias based unknowns ruin a once great place. I really hope everyone can benefit from elite trader like I have--- Perhaps listening, rather than talking would be of benefit to you. I am well experienced in what works and what doesn't work--- learn or don't. surf
Unique members might not be enough, as this might encourage those savvy with IP masking skills and whatnot to manipulate things. Perhaps users with at least 6 months of "experience" posting here could participate. And by experience I mean having been registered here for 6 months.
You may have and those are wonderful achievements yet not one is reflected in your trade journal, YOUR Trading from entry to exit money and trade management is at best amateurish at worse hilarious. That in its self is no crime in fact its routine and one expects to find a lot of it on trading sites, the problem is you run around interfering and laying down the law when people are discussing methods and techniques you do not use, you offer no viable alternative and half the time your comments are such that they can not even be responded to as part of a constructive debate "oh the ta brigade, disillusion" etc You are also in the habit of accusing others of being trolls with several user names, that is not your job, if you suspect and have evidence report it to a mod, if you have something useful to counter a technique introduce it, we are here to help one another and advance, not accuse each other of being disillusion. Participation with this site may be about the connections you have made but for others its about learning and advancing their solo cause of being a trader, they may use methods you neither like or understand, they may use junk and fail, you have to learn to be constructive in relation to that, if you do not and the suggested change appeared next week, you know for a fact with your current attitude you would never post in a ta thread again, only you with attitude adjustments can change that.
